Hash, Inc. - Animation:Master

Cristin McKee has finished volume 2 of her Animate! series, and it's now available, along with volume 1, at:

http://www.rafhashvideotapes.com/animatecdroms.html

This is the only complete animation curriculum based entirely on Animation:Master.

In this second disc, Anzovin Studio animator Cristin McKee takes you step-by-step through theory and techniques of intermediate character animation, with the goal of helping you bring your characters more fully to life.

As in volume 1, Cristin discusses ways to avoid common animation mistakes and provides a number of "live" animation examples, highlighting the production process of a professional animator. All of the animation examples include "right" and "wrong" versions that are analyzed in depth. A complete and updated lesson plan supplements the training materials, making Animate! With Cristin McKee an excellent text for any animation curriculum.

The disc contains approximately 1.5 hours of hi-res instructional video and more than 100MB of supporting materials. Models, project files, tip sheets, transcribed lessons, and sample movies, among other extras, are included on the disc.

Vol 2 topics: Arcs * IK vs FK * Timing * Silhouette * Pose * Holds * Exaggeration * Revisions

Vol 1 topics: Getting Started * Keyframes * Squash & Stretch * Anticipation * Follow Through * Overlapping Action * Secondary Action * Animating a Simple Character

UPCOMING DISCS:

We plan to release one disc per month through the fall of 2005. Upcoming topics in the series will include: Weight * Walk Cycles * Straight Ahead Walks * Run Cycles * Jumps * Personality * Thought Process * Acting * Animating to Dialogue * Revisions

Enjoy!

Anzovin Studio

What's up with Chapter 14: revisions?

On my CD, there are two folders, one called "Revisions," and one called "14 Revisions." Their contents are identical--three folders: "01 Ball Throw," "02 Chair Revisions" and "06 Duel Revision."

Isn't there supposed to be a Quicktime file called "14_Revisions.mov" in one of those folders? I think I'm missing a chapter.

The revisions section was a last minute addition that I always wanted to add if there was room on the disc for the extra movie files. It's basically just a series of all the stages of some shots that were animated on the disc (plus a shot from duel) and a detailed breakdown of the changes that each shot went through as they neared completion. I never intended to record a tutorial for this section because there's no way it could be small enough to fit on the disc. But I still thought it would be useful information to include for anyone who might be interested in seeing more behind the scenes of the process behind animating some of those shots.

So you shouldn't be missing anything. Instead, it sound as if you have an extra folder. I'll look into that and make sure there isn't an error with the master. Thanks for calling it to my attention.

Hi

I purchased the Character Animation Vol 1, it was brilliant. However, when can we see a sample clip of the Character Animation Vol II CD?

I have been to Anzovin site several times this month but still no Vol II sample.

Thanks.

I liked the CDs both very much, though the lady speaks very fast , which for me as a foreigner made it partly difficult to follow, but : there is the rewindbottun!

Anotherthing I liked is the colorcheme, that is used for the Hash menubars.

But how the heck do I get that funky orange backgrounds into the pushed buttons?

I think its the "cool"-layout and then....how to proceed.

Any help anybody?

thank you

That interface was used in version 10 but dropped for 11. Something to do with Mac. compatibility.
