jamagica
Alright...I finally pretty much finished rigging and modeling the basics of my flower....look at the rig! I'm using dynamic constraints for each petal to cut down on the animation work time. Plot: basically a flower gets aggrovated because of a bee that keeps flying around it and is doing a whole bunch of annoying stuff (I get the ideas of that stuff from what I do to others )
jamagica
I tweaked the leaf a bit...check it out..I examined some pictures of real flower leaves and noticed they have a larger bowl shape
jamagica
Alright..here's a dynamics test...the default settings give me just what I want...I also have a pose for dynamics on/off. This will be helpful for when I have parts in which I want to completely control the petals without trouble.... dynamics_test_flower.mov
ZachBG
That looks good. I love dynamic constraints. Half of the overlapping action I do is based on DCs these days.
jamagica
Yeah! They're great! Right now I"m about to texture my flower....so it looks nice and pretty
jamagica
Decided to hold back on texturing and improve my rig..this is a basic pose I have right now... tell me what expression you see in this? Should I add eyes to the guy?
jamagica
Whoops forgot about the pic...by the way, i finished texturing except for the UNIBROW. What color should I make it...white doesn't look good. Would black be fine?
Fishman
Experiment with many colors. I would try black and yellow and maybe orange. I personally think the eyes need to be just a bit smaller. Cute model! Scott
jamagica
Orange would be crazy! I'll try that one..thanks for the tips on the eyes... I actually caught that one before you
Kamikaze
Im already looking forward to seeing this mini at it's completion... Looking really good so far.. Michael, P.S. Im working on 3 mini's right now, not sure which will get the nod.. Michael
jamagica
Ok..I want to cut down on render times...how is this for a grass plain instead of hair? Or what would be a good way to simulate the blades without the use of hair?
jamagica
Alright..here's the start of the bee. Got a question, though. Should I give it the same style of eyes as the flower? I suddenly feel that the the bee looks too realistic compared the the rest of the scene
jamagica
This is the other option
jamagica
I think I'll stick with the "Two arms, non-realistic" style
Dhar
Ok..I want to cut down on render times...how is this for a grass plain instead of hair? Or what would be a good way to simulate the blades without the use of hair? Mapping
jamagica
hey!! that's what I did! Bump maps! Check out the showcase section and look at the "scene shot" I got...I find that plain is fine
