jpiazzo Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 Hi everyone, This is my first attempt at modeling anything like a face. I think I have to many splines, probably all in the wrong place. Things really got away from me when I attached the ears. Can I improve on what I have, or should I start from scratch again. I really learned alot just getting here! JP Quote
Paul Forwood Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 That's a cute Teddybear and well done. That's really pretty good for a first attempt. You could lose alot of splines in there but get some practice in and do a bit of tweeking of bias handles to smooth out some of the more extreme lumps. Keep it up. Quote
Korken Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 I'd say it's a great start! Keep up the good work! //Korken Quote
littleandy Posted May 31, 2005 Posted May 31, 2005 I like the basic shape you're going for. Just get rid of any splines that seem even a LITTLE bit redundant, and it will clean it up a lot, and get rid of the rumpliness of the face. -Andrew Quote
jpiazzo Posted June 1, 2005 Author Posted June 1, 2005 Thanks for the encouragement! My original face mask, eyes and face were alot lighter in splines. Then I added the mouth - OK, the mouth area needs detail. Then I tried to turn the face into a nice round head - OH BOY! Then I modeled the ears and attached them...thats when things got messy. I am really glad you all like the overall look though - I was going for cute and sympathetic - the poor bear, after all, he spent most of his life, in my story, wired to the front grill of a garbage truck as a hood ornament!
