bentothemax Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 I was walking around outside yesterday, and i saw a small creek with some rocks poking up. It must have been the most beatiful day ever. Anyway, I tried to capture the beauty of a sunlight river, in late May. Tell me what you think! Ben Quote
Datameister Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 I like it. A couple of comments: the grass looks a bit tubular, and it could use a little more green. The tree is very nice. You did a great job on the ripples in the water. Did you do the grass with hair? Quote
bentothemax Posted May 8, 2005 Author Posted May 8, 2005 Yes, I did . . . The problem is, i couldn't really get the grass to get smaller as it goes up . . . I also kinda wanted a bamboo look to some of the dryer grass Quote
higginsdj Posted May 8, 2005 Posted May 8, 2005 You need to use the timeline on the thickness property to change the settings over the length of the grass. The alternative is to use an image of the blade of grass. Cheers Quote
seven Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 I do not believe you can do everything in A:M why not photoshoppng a bit - reducing the details - with some filters... Here just a try. Quote
bentothemax Posted May 9, 2005 Author Posted May 9, 2005 heh, perhaps if I werent still using photoshp version 5 LE Quote
Datameister Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 To be honest, I think I like the original better. I'm not too fond of that set of Photoshop filters. But that's just a personal opinion. As to the tapering of the grass (or lack thereof ), I can't give any suggestions. I haven't done stuff with hair yet. Good work! Quote
higginsdj Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 I think you might want to tone down the bright white lettering on the box and give it a weathered look. Cheers Quote
brainmuffin Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 And adjust the alpha map on the image you used for the tree leaves, they're a little too black around the edges. There's also some odd lines around the tree... Quote
