Far Star Productions Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 This is about 8 hours of work. Nothing on this model is complete it is just for test purposes. opinions are welcomed. Thanks Ghost coat test animation Quote
JoshB Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 Looks nice. Interesting concept. However, it looks as though it is floating (I know it's floating--but, sliding) as the camera rotates I think this is a combination of the untextured floor and the motion of the camera in relation to the coat. And, I'm sure you saw the shadow flicker. J Quote
steve392 Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 ooooh that is spooky looks good , well done creepyoh Quote
Newbert_Zero Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 wow did you do that all in 8 hours from scratch? or was it just the animation? you shoulden't have him turn at the end. you should make him come closer and closer till we pee our pants. Quote
starwarsguy Posted April 9, 2005 Posted April 9, 2005 Great work! My only problem with it is it looks as though the "feet" aren't carrying it. Even if the invisible leg isn't moving, it's still progressing. I don't know if you meant to do that, but it bothered me. Quote
Dhar Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 Excellent work. More like The Invisible Man than a ghost. Quote
Far Star Productions Posted April 10, 2005 Author Posted April 10, 2005 Thanks for the response! I have just started into the concept of Ghost Coat and your suggestions will greatly help. My plans are to incorporate the coat with DV footage. I see the odd shadow flutter as well and I am not sure what is causing this. This is a single pass render so that may have something to do with it. I have been playing with cloth but resorted to using hand animation with a few bones with dynamics to get the coat to move they way I want for now but am looking forward to giving the v12 cloth a go. I will do more tweaking on the animation and scene set up and post the outcome. Thanks again for the suggestions. Quote
Far Star Productions Posted April 10, 2005 Author Posted April 10, 2005 This was my first animation with the Coat. Coat jump Quote
Newbert_Zero Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 lol that was good. I thought it was gonna just sit there at first. Quote
Newbert_Zero Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 you should make him disapear and reapear throughout your scene. it would be interesting to see. Quote
Mr. Jaqe Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 Really cool! If you do the first scene a little darker, it would also be more spooky/more mysterious. Quote
JoshB Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 ha! It's Neo's jump. Be sure to turn raytraced shadows on when you render him for real because the light's passing right through him. J Quote
Alexey Posted April 10, 2005 Posted April 10, 2005 That looks really good! And it is more like the invisible man then a ghost. A small suggestion: the camera stops too abrubtly - add some ease to it and it will look even beter. Great stuff. Quote
