So should I be working on the set or will we be using the one Mark did?

Okay I see what your saying. I've been browsing google, as I am want to do, and came across many, many, many building variations. I narrowed it down to two. Let me know what you guys think. if neither fits the bill I'll continue looking. If you have any ideas of your own please post them.

Well I was thinking simple. Just something functional and pleasant. My thinking is the animation is the important thing here and I want peoples attention there and not so much on the set.

I'm looking for a smooth look but not too obvious. I've experimented a bunch with it but I'm still not sure on a good level. I'll just keep playing with it until I get something I like.

Okay if everyone agrees on the piece I'll go ahead and put the set together. I'll keep it simple and upload it. What would be the best format to upload it?

Well I'm still working on this (WOW!!!) I have of course been rewriting the scipt, always room to improve things. The biggest change of course is the main character. I thought perhaps that he was too young for the story. It is a bit graphic and adult and a kid just doesn't fit the part. I started doing a bit of research and drawing and have the new main character fleshed out and I've started modeling him. He's around the age of 17 so please crit what I have so far before I get too involved with the final look.

I think it would be cool to have Thom on a roof with a telescope looking into each window. Anyway how long should each animation piece be?

I'd say rear window or monster audition. I've been practicing alot and I'm really up to entering something, though I haven't uploaded anything in a while. I feel I do more if I spend less time on the net.

As it is nearing August I suppose the 2011 idea will spill over into the 2012 ideas?

Nice The narration would be the last thing we need though as we'd have to see what we have before we narrate it but definitly a great idea. So the next question would be deadline. What would be a nice realistic time frame to have it finished?

That's why I haven't rushed in to anything just yet. Still trying to roll all the kinks out. One thing also would be version. I think version 15? Like I said, lots of things to work out.

I've been considering this and I don't really see a problem really. We could keep the set semi-simple. It's really a matter of props.

My biggest problem would be storage for people to upload there finished segments to so that it can be edited together. What about drop box?

Lot's of good ideas! So since this has stretched out so far I'm inclined to go with a sports type theme. Each person involved could choose a sport and then animate a small segment, sort of like a training video or guide...ie the old Goofy films. I would assume everyone involved would prefer the forum project over a contest?

It's not dead, my PC was LOL. The motherboard just died on me and I had to build a new one. Anyway I'm still rolling the idea around and I'm still open to all ideas, though I'm leaning more towards a BUS STOP type thing.

Well had a complete computer meltdown and finally got it back up and running. And I have finished my 28 day work week and have 28 days off the get back to AM. So we seem to have a lot of mixed feelings on this, as well as a lot of great ideas. I must say I was impressed with the Bus Stop project and I think something like that would be pretty good to do again. This time I would be more than happy to do a short myself.

The script has undergone a few changes. Its unlikely that the rabbit will be used. Instead I've opted for the Chesher cat...I think I spelled that right. Anyway, here's the head that I've been working on.

So the internet on the rig isn't worth 2 cents but it may allow me to keep this thing going. So without more blathering from me here's what I managed to attain in 2 hours tonight. Which is the only 2 hours I've had in 7 days to do anything. And also this is as far as I will be taking this small test. I will be moving on to the penny move test and shall see what i can attain there. Edit: Nevermind. I can post but I can't upload any files. Its worse than dial up lol....oh well it'll have to wait I guess.
