two things will help your blade:
1) i've never seen a sword with a dead flat bade. there's at least a ridge or grove, and occasionaly evil glowing runes that suck the life force from it's tormented victims, leaving them a hollow husk of a thing, succeptible to your will, unless they make their saving throw.
2) environment maps make things look reflective, otherwise it's just reflecting the void of your empty choreography.

i didn't see a web viewer for quest 3d.
once the new sdk is ready, they can add a:m native support!

i realize she's a bot, but you might consider fading those tattoos a bit. it'd be more realistic, and they'd be less of an eye-draw.
right now, the eyes and the breasts are neck-and-neck for initial eye placement, due to the heavy black surrounding them both.
unless thats what you're going for. ' ' )

a few posts back: was that our first case of unadulterated forum spam? how exciting!

it appears he has been doing some serious breast research, as the overall breast shape is actually quite good.
the model is wearing an invisible pushup bra, but i imagine the character will be clothed, so no problem there.
the breast splinage does needs some smoothing, however.
now, a few non-breast related observations:
i'm kinda creeped out by the 20 year old body and the 5 year old head.
even in anime, the eyes would be a good deal smaller for an adult woman.
she has a nice body overall, so no complaints there.

arcticpigs is a third-party application. hash didn't develop it, although i'm sure they supported it's development.
i'm sure it'd be a challenge, but hash, inc. is certainly more than equal to it.
as i understand, the developer of arcticpigs is currently developing his envionment for other-than-web uses, which is akin to re-engineering your porsche to cut your grass... but such is life.
it's all looking like spilt milk under the bridge....

arctic pigs is the sleeping beauty of the animation master world.
unless you have a copy of a:m v8.5 lying around, you can't develop in it.
i do, and do... and you can see several samples of it on my site.
i wait impatiently for someone to champion the development of realtime 3d for a:m, cuz it's the future... plain and simple.

the forum database seems to be loosing the occasional posting from time to time.
feel free to let me know when the problem clears up.

there isn't one that i'm aware of, although i think there was recently a meeting in pennsylvania.
there are at least a few other active members from the dc area, but i'm not sure how well we'd get along. ' ' )

while the console makers are a factor, almost all of these issues are due to greedy, lazy, developers, and the idiots (us) who keep eating the dog food on our plates.
the games will get smarter and more original when consumers reward the publishers who make smart and original games.
but then those companies will keep cranking out the same kind of game till we smack 'em down again.
grand theft auto was freakin' awsome the first time i played it, vice city was cool.. and san andreas is just kinda neat. (technically i'm still playing it, but i haven't touched it this year.)

what does the final render look like?
quickrenders can be deceiving.

i don't know if it's 100% accurate, but it sure looks good!

his head does seem to flatten out a little abruptly.
could that be his hairstyle?

i'm late to the party, but for me the two elements are unconnected, even with the traling wire.
even though this will be a cd cover, i would take a more iconic approach to the layout, even if the detail remains high. by this i mean, both elements should be equally recognizable at a distance.
would it be distasteful to integrate the microphone into the cross, combining both into a single item? that is, give the microphone a more retangular outline, and add the crossbar element to it.. thereby creating a cross?
if that's too much, how about arranging the microphone directly in front of the vertical element of the cross, so that the cross completely encompasses the mic?
just ideas...

good work!
the first thing that strikes me here is the lack of contrast overall... but since she's playing with the dead, maybe it's supposed to be a little gloomy ' ' )

i know nothing about game studio, and a little bit more about a:m.
i'm trying to find a new 3d web animation environment to export to, since the home team arcticpigs seems to be at end of life.

looks much better!
the 'tell' for me is the white metal.. it still looks like plastic. especially the business end of the barrell.
i'd throw in an environment map, but there may be easier solutions.

chad,
your modeling looks top notch, but between the low lighting and the snow, it's difficult to see the detail.
if you are striving for the level of photorealism you achieved with the bullet, then consider more light and texture for the pistols.
great start!

http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?&act=ignore&MID=xxx
where xxx is the member number you wish to ignore.
this would normally be a popup window, but isn't using this method, so don't close the window if you want to keep using the forum.
everyone on this forum has contributed to the community, but if someone's consistently raising your blood pressure, then you should have the right to ignore them.
life's too short.

sg: do you have any experience with using a:m models with this environment?

i'm not too concerned about promoting a:m or job creation... i just wanna make cool stuff on the web.
sounds like we're all hapier due to your coding efforts! ' ' )

the current official place for tutes is http://www.lowrestv.com/arm/
the forum would be a good place to let the community know about a tute, but it's not really a good place to keep zip files.
wink sounds an awful like techstudio's camtasia. if i'm not mistaken, thats how hash makes their video tutes.
but as long as it creates an easily viewable movie, then it sounds like a great option!

it seems like you're fighting the realtime/game war on several fronts! ' ' )
again sounding my one note, are there any .x web viewers/animators available?
i'm also mildly interested in the torque environment, but they seem rather plug-in happy... or is that not the case?

Now the Star-bellied Sneetches had bellies with stars.
The Plain-bellied Sneetches had none upon thars.
The stars weren't so big; they were really quite small.

those who win the contests and need their medal of honor always have fellowship. that's no small prize.
its important to take ownership of our achievements, but it seems a little silly to have it trumpeted with every post.
lest you think that's the perspective of a looser, take a look at my belly. ' ' )

that was pretty durn excellent! if only we could move around in real time...

i'd concentrate on the the atmosphere layer... do i see a faint fractal combiner there? make it a little less transparent, and - as noted - almost all of that planet would be unlit by the star/sun.
i caution against lens flairs as a rule, but i think it helps the whole retro feel of the ol' ncc 1701.
