  1. Wow John! This is awsome. Now is there a way to get the rock to make the indents on the surface? The surface looks like its jiggly. This is awsome john keep up the good work! Paul
  2. Also I am having a little bit of trouble making eyes for this character. If I make the eyes it dosnt fit right and I try to position the eyelid around the eye but it just goes a little threw the eye and it dosnt look right. How would I make the eyes for this character? Picture is below: P.S> Any suggestions to make this character awsome is appreciated and also I plan on making a short film with this character so he will be animated.
  3. Updated him and decided that his name would be "Rosco" heh . The updated version of him is below. I added definition to the mouth and scaled down the head just a bit the to size that I wanted it plus as you see I added the torso, legs, arms and feet. I tweaked the face a little too and will continue to add detail as I go along with this character. The updated picture of him is below:
  4. I guess you really cant say what it will be untill its finished. But once its done you will see why I put those bumps there.
  5. Im looking to keep those bumps on there....Since this isnt gonna be a human...Its going to be more like a wolf/dinosaur/beast/dog/cat ()/ hairy monkey/ whatever u want it to be kinda character .
  6. Heres another wireframe shot where you can see the mouth better.
  7. Jamagica, Here is an updated version. I added a mouth and I'll also post the wireframe.
  8. Hey, This is my first attempt at making a character. This is the very basis of him. Im going to be making a film with him if all goes well with the texturing and the rigging so here it is:
  9. Paul, Thank you so much for your response! It might not seem like much but I went back in a tried what you told me to do and it worked! I NEVER AGAIN HAVE TO DO IT MANUALLLY!!! Lol but in all seriousness, thankyou Paul I learned a big thing today
  10. Really awsome character! Really inspires me to get great and make a character like this
  11. Hey everyone! I finished something in which I had an idea to do but really was doubting I could pull it off. I made a checkerboard plane and just added fur to it make blue fur come from the blue box on the checker board and the red fur come from the red box on the checkerboard, etc.. Now how I got the animation was I just pulled the guide hairs from left to right on keyframes manually. Now I learned alot from this seeing as I've only been using AM since December 16th and this is my first animation done with AM. It 3 seconds long but what the heck! Ahh, well I hope you all like it! Checkerboard Fur Also, once you watch the Animation you will see how the hair isn't a natural flow and you can see that I did it manually. I mean you can do it manually but you will be sitting there counting the keyframes and moving each hair guide just right to get it to work out perfect. This was just a test but I would like to improve on getting the hair to simulate naturally. So my question: Is there a way to get the fur hair to blow naturally like from a force of wind or something instead of me having to do it manually? If so how? Sort of like in Monsters Inc. how that big blue furry monster moves and the hair goes with him. That I don't think was done manually they must have a system which moves the hairs natural as it does look that way. Thanks everyone! Paul
  12. Love this Dark. I think its one of your best at least from all your work that i've seen so far. Keep up the great work and I cant wait for the tutorial on how you made this. Paul
  13. Interesting............. ..... I like the shape of the back on this character. It just suits him or her well .
  14. Here is what the tip of the screwdriver in wireframe looks like just incase anyone wants to know:
  15. Ok the modelling is all done for the screwdriver. Here is the finished model:
  16. I really like your idea and it sounds like it will turn out great. If you need any help id be more then willing to help you out with whatever you need towards this project. Hope to see this in the production process soon . I didn't know about the new Willy Wonka movie that is coming out thanks for posting the trailer looks pretty good. Paul
  17. Hey guys, I got further towards completing the model. I didn't make the end of the handle by your instructions higginsdj because I tried but when I added the hooks I then would see cracks in the model so I try to find another way, unless the cracks would of disapeared when you rendered it. Dont know if they would of but just thought of that now. Whatever the case is, I tweaked the grip of the handle and obviously added the back part of it. For the back part usually if you make the hole very small it will add creases comming from the center especially since I have alot of splines on such a little hole. Instead what I did was I beveled the little hole by shrinking the hole very small and then extruding the small ring of cp's. Then I just moved them inside the handle and scaled it wider and extruded a bit more for added bevel. Take a look: Thanks everyone for looking. Please leave your thoughts and comments and suggests, etc. Thank you once again Paul
  18. I'll keep that in mind for next time. I got a updated version of it, but I am running into a few problems. First, I patched a 36 circle to all 36 points at the end of the handle and now when I turn on shaded mode and move the camra I see some patches flicker. Why is this? And what would I need to do to fix it? Thanks Guys Paul Btw those 2 black spots on the end of the handle are flickering patches just for an example...If I was to move the camra in another direction it would look normal.
  19. Hey everyone! I thought I would let you all see my first model Im attempting in AM v.11. Its a screwdriver, a realistic one I might add . At least that is what Im trying to accomplish. I've been modelling what you see in the two images below for about 20-30 minutes, I did that in just that amount of time. Although, its not completed yet I think its pretty good so far seeing as it is my first model that I am doing in AM. Please tell me what you think so far . Click on the 2 links for shaded view and shaded/wireframe view of the screwdriver: Thanks Everyone Paul
