Looks good.
Try to reduce the number of splines, especially in the head.

most likely your normals are point in the wrong direction.
They have to be pointing in the same direction (outward) and you won't
get the rendering artifacts.
great looking model!

Straight horizontal and vertical.
I would have no diagnolly running splines at all.
I will try to find a picture from my tutorial to post.
found one, the front splines are probably too curved for my taste today.
But I time I thought it looked like it flowed nicely.
You dont have to do it that way, but I find that it helps keep things managable and
while the way you have it, the mesh is elegant and pretty, but in my rig it does not
contribute to good deformations.
But you can certainly work out a system that does work with your mesh layout.

Looks good to me.
I probably would run more horizontal splines in th hips then how you have them
but that is due to how I set up the bones in rig on my models hips.
-
A shaded wirefram would be helpful too.
Looks pretty good to me though.

In my own experience and as far as I know it does speed up rendering.
If its not active, its not there.

Looks really great so far!

I invented a shotgun once that would chamber some of the expansion from the blast to another cavity that had a piston that would be forced back in the opposite direction of the projectile in order to negate the kick. Patented and all.
Yea, right!
They have that.
My brother has this shotgun, I'll find out the name. It basically negates the recoil into spings in but of the gun.
It looks very much like the guns the soldiers had in Aliens.

both unstable and crashing.
Like I would want to check the status of one instance and it was in the back on the display.
it would take a long time to redraw or sometimes it would crash.
-
I cant say for sure as I only have 4 core machines... but I'd have to imagine it would however many cores minus 1 in order to run the software and the system stable.
I can run with 4 instances, but the computer is just completely unstable.
-
Ooops, what I was going on about was multiple machines, not just multiple instances.
Can you run the web subscription on multiple machines?
-
Via the web subscription?
-
What does this matter now? You can't run multiple instances with the current release.

All I have to say is I was always a big fan of Rodan!
And the Robot that could grow! forgot his name....

That ship looks just great!

I get about 70 miles per gallon with my little Honda (reference to the song "my little Honda" scooter advertisement) Aero 50cc
I haven't had a car in a year now, and can't believe people pay this much already. $100 per year on insurance on the Honda(that's 2 tankful for most folks).
This animation made me realize that I need to keep at it. Not happy with the arm movement.
I agree. The lipsynch looks pretty good to me but the body animation is a little crazy like.... I would say, act out the movemnets yourself, then only use about half of what you did in the mirror in your animation.

$2 for a tank of Gas? Where do you live? Out here, one gallon of unleaded gasoline costs about $3.30. I usually get around 11 gallons of gas, so that costs me about $36. How many miles per gallon does your car get? Something drastic has to be done with energy before the United States goes into a recession. I could really see solar panels on the tops of every house in America and millions of people driving an electric powered car. Free energy for everything in the house, and your car would really boost the economy. It probably will not happen until gas costs go up to $8 a gallon and we blame a scapegoat for the economic problems.
I think shutting down the oil industry would crush the economy and then we'd really be heading into a (we are probably already there) recession..... Think about how many jobs would dissappear.
Crazy, almost seems like our economy is oil, doesn't it?

Just another test for those interested in seeing output from Zign Track:
It is time that I put some animation together with the mocap stuff. Maybe next week.
Paul,
I have not had a chance to play with the software yet so all of this is me just thinking....
this looks ok, and not to take anything away from Luuk's hard work on his software,
but the lip synch just doesnt fly with me.
It appears to be mostly just up and down movements of the jaw.
No sound forming lip shapes as far as I can tell.
Now why is this?
Is it the limitations of the software or are the results dependent on how the user sets up
the facial bones/smartskin?

Not too rain on your parade, but you are a little late in this discussion.
Martin has told us that they went to extreme efforts to take advantage of mult-cpu/core machines
only to find out that the software and hardware(both os and applications) are not there yet.
It doesnt make total sense to me, but I don't know enough about the programming side of it to
say its one or the other or both.
Sucks as I have 3 dual processor machines with dual core cpu's just hanging around!
-
It doesnt matter that you no longer have the option to assign the number of cores to am's render as using
multi cores was way way way way way(did I mention way) slower than using one core.
You can however run multiple instances and tell each one (use only 3 if you have 4 cores) to
render the appropriate frames.
But using the multi thread option was much slower then using just one thread for some reason.

You are grossly short changing yourself.
I know, as I've done that to myself more then a few times in the past.
90 seconds of lip synch is going to be a real chore to work through.
then, the whole idea about not a lot of body animation thing while this character
is presenting or talking.... is a real joke.
For some reason 3d characters that don't move stick out and are very hard to watch.
You'll probably end up having to spend a lot of time animating the upper body to make this watchable.
I did a job over the summer for a restaurant chain at over 4xtimes what you are thinking of charging
and financially, I lost out. A mistake I won't make again.
It was 2minutes and 20 seconds long.
