dude.... that was bad animation..... the models looked pretty good.
did you model them?
-
this is really the best 3d renderings/style I have ever seen, in my opinion ofcourse....
I'm looking foward to the day that I will be able to see this!

the loops that go from her nose, across the cheek bones, around the eyes and then across the forhead can be reduced.
the model still looks great!
-
and as for modelling for $500, i'm doing this on my own, budget equates to about $100 maybe a little more to try and build the set and everything, i'm gonna mostly use scraps that around the place though
thats much more realistic:)
Keep us posted!

Darkwing, I'll model it for $500
thats a pretty good deal:)

she is beautiful! the model you made looks pretty good too.... but it is still too many splines for what the model is.
Might be a pain if you plan to animate.

yeah, way too many splines.
too early to tell if the modeling looks good.
keep us posted and cut down on the splines.

you dont need to boolean this.
you're slpines are not laid out properly to form the mouth.
you would need to have a couple slpine loops for the mouth.
also, when you extrude the mouth inward it will help to solidify
the shape.

Looks super good!
whats the patch count???
-
very nice.
I think you could probably do with fewer splines... but very nice work.
-
blocked..... very wierd. I did think that the forum was not functioning properly....
to be updated?
-
I remember using the original version it worked well it wil be nice to have another tool on the tool belt.....now if I can just find my pants ..(says john trying to be funny like Vern)
Funny? Like how? Like a clown, like Vern is here to Amuse you??????

its not bad. I think slowing some things down might make it look better. Like slow the cloud down.
and maybe slow the water down more.
-
yeah but isnt riggin fun:)

well, if you just want the waves to move across from left to right,
why not just make a black wall like geometry, put a repeating texture
and just move the wall left to right?
no?
too simple?
-
all entries look great!

I have the flat shape of a wave ( see picture) and want to animate it the way,
that a wave runs through this shape from one side to the other.
Can anybody give me some ideas please, what would be the best way to achieve this effect?
Thank you
What?
I'm not sure what you're asking. you want the boat to go up and down
on the wave line?

I think a good way to get one into the proper mindset when laying out the mesh of your model
is to understand that "it really really matters how the splines are laid out".
You want the splines that make up the mesh to flow.
think of the eye socket in the shaded/wireframe model you posted.
you have 2 spline loops that flow nicely. Its pretty much the
only properly laid out splines you have in the model.
Also, you have 3pt patches everywhere. You use 3pt patches
only when no other 4pt or 5pt patch can do the job.
Understanding how to transition from spline loops to straight
flowing splines will help you solve many problems you would encounter when modelling,
for example in this image. Look for the patches that have 5points. this will help
you get out of most spline loops and into straight splines. Like for example
the arm flowing into the shoulders and into the chest/torso.

to say it plainly.... the splinemanship is just unacceptable:)
its chock full of 3pt patches.
did you import this from another app?
-
that is a great looking home!
I think it needs a 2nd floor terrace:)
-
what version are you working in?
v14, 15?
If not v15 then you could post the project file, minus the guy and other props and let us have a go with it.
I wonder if the patch normals are pointing in the same direction? would that make a difference?
-
My solution would be to do this without the hair system.
other then that.... what format is the decal, how big is it file size?
-
dont be sorry, its still just as great!
-
Yeah, I think we're gonna have to see some shaded wireframes
to make sure this isn't just a photo:)
