both images look great.
you really have a great touch when it comes to these mechanical yet smooth flowing shapes.
wow!
-
that is so freaking cool!
u very dangerous!!!!
-
yeah, looking great!
-
From a composition point of view, its fantastic!!!
The foot slipping solution probably will be found in editing
the position channels.
But the progress is great!

Cmon, make an animation of this turning his head or something, I just want to see how crazy
good the surface of the model will look when its really ready to be animated!
Good good good stuff!

Damn.... great work on the rig!

That looks fabulous, Roger! I'm glad you finished that.wonder if you deformed the part of the tires that touch the ground to show wieght,
You're absolutely correct and I did consider it. But some rough calculations suggested that you'd have to have something like 36 radial cross sections to have a moving bulge as the wheel rotated that didn't "pulse" from cross-section to cross section and it would probably still be a bias tweaking nightmare to get it to look realistic in motion. I couldn't justify this type of patch overhead on just a car.
a distortion box would simplify animating that.
However an easier solution might be to deform your eight-rib wheel once and then just rotate the texture on it. I think that would be visually indistinguishable from actually animating the mesh.
Those are some intuitive thoughts robcat!
I was just thinking if you did it only for the still shots, as, when the wheels are turning durign driving you might not notice it as much either way.
But for a still, I think it would add great to the detial of the shot.

Pretty cool!
I'm just making up a crit here:)
I wonder if you deformed the part of the tires that touch the ground to show wieght, if it
wouldnt convey a bit more of the excellent realism you've already achieved?

right-o!
there is no real need to have that hook there.
the spline that runs across the thigh and over the back is not needed.
I would just delete the part going over the back and connect it to the hook.
but thats just me.

Mark,
Even though I can see that the dandylions (not sure what name the flower is) do have variations to them,
something looks repetitive about it.
I sort of feel like maybe they are at the same height as one another or maybe where ever they are they
overpower the grass and maybe in some areas the grass should over power the flower, specially further away?
I don't know.
But over all, the image is super cool!
keep us posted.

since this is a non paying gig, I think you need to post this in the "co-operative" projects section.
-
did you animate this or was it motion capture?
cool looking for sure!
-
Looks great!
4 parking spots might not be enough:)
-
Why dont you just do this afterwards?
do you have quicktime pro?
if so you can load the qt animation and export and in the features
of the export you will find options for this.

I'm just responding about the wheele, even though you might have already moved on...
I think that it looks really good.
The only way I can think to simplify it would be to have the wheele in 2 pices.
One would be just a cylinder, then another that has that wave detail.
You would be able to use different mesh resolution for each. fewer for the inner
round wheele and more for the outer waved wheele.

Perhaps I should ask, if your project is complex and long enough to need 8 PCs (or CPUs) for rendering in order for it to be completed within a resonable time, what options are available in AM V15 for doing this?
For you, Rusty, and anybody like you, NetRender can be made available. Contact steve@hash.com for pricing.
HOOOORAAAYYY!
that is good to know.

that was cool!
Cant wait to see what you've got next!

Wow that was really good.
I mean it looks so effortless.
my crit: when he backing up holding on the upright poles, his back is straight, I feel like it would be better if he was
sort of bent over a bit so it looks like he is pulling something.
But really over all this was great!!!
-
Hmm, I think it looks like he's raising his hand in victory, but at the same time he's got to go take a #2, if you know
what I mean:)
In a victory pose like that, He probably would be raising his fist high in the sky, and his body language should all
be on the same page.
His legs straight, no bend at the knees. His hips directly on top of his stance and torso stretching upwards.
what do you think?
-
I like it too!
However, you could do this with fewer splines and
might want to go back and remove some of them.
