  1. Check to see how many functions are supported on your graphics card by going to the options and click on the open_GL tab. I am using a NVDIA FX/5500/SSE2 card and everything works fine. There are only three finctions supported which are:GL_KTX_buffer_region,WGL_ARB_pbuffer, and WGL_ARB_pixel_format. Of couse you should also make sure the current drivers are installed. A new computer doesn't nessarly mean the drivers are upto date.
  2. Has anyone completed exersize 20 of the 2006 manual? I was able to complete it all the way to the end then it crashed when turning on draw for the hair. From then on it was impossible to reload the project file wihtout getting an error. I have submitted an error report to Hash but will also include the PRJ file here to see if anyone else can load it. [attachmentid=23103] Ex_20.zip
  3. And the conclusion of your resulting logic is?
  4. THEN, there is a person like myself, A jack of all trades and a master of none. The sort term memory sucks, and every time I try to do something I've done in the past, I need to figure it out all over again!
  5. To all that jumped in to help I say thanks. I remebered how to flatten in my sleep. After waking tried it and behold it worked, I fail to be in an action window.
  6. I just tried to flatten my exersize 11 for a decal, and I was unable to find the dilog FLATTEN in the Rotate Window. Has something changed in ver 13? I've flatten a face before and thought I had it all figured out. Also I tried to submit this to the Forum FAQ but it wouldn't let me Any help would be welcomed
  7. Checkout Hashes Image files on the CD under the directory [sky/MorningSky.jpg]. This is a Sky dome. When you first add it, it looks like the Sun is everywhere. Just render it and you'll see what happens. Here is a link that has it used on my last exersize http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showt...mp;#entry208414. Just scrowl down to you see the airplane landing on one of the canned ground images.
  8. Well, to introduce myself it can best be done by looking at my first and only personal website(http://mysite.verizon.net/rbjohnsn) built with Dreamweaver. I first saw Animation Master at a computer fair in Santa Barbara, CA. I was awed at the graphics achieved “ “ on a laptop with only 500K of ram. NOT, it was impressive though. As I needed something to take up my spare time while taking care of my mother I bought AM. I found the program fascinating with its ability to generate 3d graphics, as long as it didn’t crash! LOL I think most of you can relate to that, which uses a home computer. The resources required for a final rendering is unreeling. That is when I realized why a production is sent to IBM, or HP to be rendered. I am a self-taught engineer, no degree, and just the title from Raytheon coming up through the ranks, only to find out the title is meaningless without the skin sheet to go along with it. My background was electronic hardware, but a hobby with computers. I built my first one in 1977, and taught myself Darmonth Basic. When I found out the program I wanted to run required more memory, all of 12K, I translated it to machine code. Wow that program ran fast in 4K. Ever heard of crazy 8 Code? It was offset Octal. It really messed over people’s mind that worked in Hex code. Because of this hobby my last job in my career was certifying software for the Airlines with a company in WI called Avista Incorporated. Now I would like to learn this most daunting software Animation Master, to support my retirement. Thanks to the Xwife it isn’t worth much. I have programmed in over seven computer languages, and find AM a very challenging experience. Most of all the results are very gratifying. I have posted my creations at http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...eoid=1439391128.
  9. As most of my MOV files are to large for this forum, and MOV is prfered over AVI, I'll show my work using AM at this url http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...eoid=1486046701 I first started by disecting one of the sample models to see how it work. Ideas came from seeing the work of many AM ers. They did provide the building blocks need to learn the mechcanics of this neet software. I am open for any and all credics
  10. Rodney, that was pritty slick, except the sound did not make it. I assume it is possible using your methode you can conver to any of the formats. From what I just came across in the newbi section, adding a link to a place where I have the file should work. From here you can see the different renderings I've done in AM. The following is the link: http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...eoid=1470788728

  12. John, you just went way over my head. I started a new project. The only place I saw to import the big file was under images. Am I on track so fare? I am not sure where the camera is you speak of. A little more directions please.
  13. Thanks for the info. When I saw "Global Space Left: unlimited space" next to the file upload I was concerned about the size. The file is in MOV format. I'll need to rerender it in AVI which will make it a third of the size. It will take sometime though, as a final rendering takes forever, 12 hr plus.
  14. Maybe if you put it in a ZIP file it will take it...sometimes it's the file type, sometimes it's just too large of a file. Tried submitting a ZIP file, but that didn't work. Even went back to Internet Explore ver# 6 as ver# 7 has some inssues with it.
  15. The system is still not excepting my attachment.
  16. I've trie to figure out the timing without a lot of success. Is there some guidelines to apply? I have attached my WIP file for some ideas for anyone that takes thier time to review it.
  17. I had this problem occur with ver 13c. There was an error window suggesting that you "save as" before proceeding. I didn't, what happened was the file was zeroed out. The file name was still on the drive but, no more data. Always save the data in two locations to allow for lost "hours of work".
  18. I was under the impression I had the latest driver from hp for the Video card. NOT soooo. There is still some dought as to what the current one is, but installing a later one which had a date in Feb 2006 things run faster. After checking what the file info was after the install it show a date back in 2005, so whi knows whats going on. It is impossible to keep up with all the changes. Software engineers now say "oh well, release it, the users will find the bugs". It would be nice to know what plateform Hash uses in the design of thier program.
  19. I just spent alot for upgraded hardware and the rendering time is mush slower. My old system of a 1.7g CPU and 1gbite of ram will render a section of my model in 2 sec. The new computer which supports a 2.9 ghz CPU and 2 Gbite of ram takes 2 minutes for the same selection. The old computer is using a GForce 5500 AGP board and the new computer has a ATI 600 board. WHAT did I do wrong?
  20. Sorry to say I am in Tucson. What is the project you were mentioning? Comunciations are only but a nano second away.
  21. I tried viewing the media file and had an error, so I tried downloading the PRJ file. The problem I had with the file was missing the models. Was the project consolidated before submitting it?
  22. On the third rendering the nickers are under the skin in two places. All in all great modeling.
