I was watching some of the promo videos on Jeff Lew's site and I noticed that he has a window with a big counter in A:M. How do I get this? Am I missing something here?
I know that when I work in ProTools they have that and it's a huge help to keep track of where you are.

I recently animated a mechanism with a bunch of gears, using simple roll-like constraints so I only had to keyframe one gear to make the whole machine operate.
How would that work for different size gears to make them all rotate at the proper speeds? I would love to see an example of yours.
Also, since I mentioned it before as an example, how would you do something like Star Trek or elevator doors controlled by one bone?

It's been highly recommended, and these two are in the book. I know it talks about facial modelling and setup so you may be in luck. Buy the book.
I think that Jason does most of his work in Maya. How does that translate to A:M?

Beyond my Mac I would have to say Intel Pentium.
I have owned AMDs in the past and they were nothing but a headache.

You're a genius.
Thanx

If I do that they just work perpendicular to one another. I want them to work opposite of one another.
Think about the doors on Star Trek and having just one bone to control them both.

Newton theorized that "for ever action there is an equal and opposite reaction" and I am wondering if this is applicable to bone constraints.
I'm thinking about animating an eye lid. You have a bone for the top and bottom lids and it would be great to just be able to open the top lid and the bottom would do the same just in an opposite direction.
I thought maybe using an negative enforcement but A:M doesn't recognize that.
Any other thoughts or solutions out there?

That's awesome!! I look forward to seeing those again. There was definately some imaginative stuff going on then (not that there isn't now).
I can't wait to see the "HammerTime" video too.

I'm tapping into the old caverns of the brain and I think I remember there being a demo movie out there that was on one of the original A:M demo reels called "Blocks" or "marbles" or something like that.
It was a movie that had a bunch of marbles riding down roller coaster tracks the a block trying to do the same and smashing through a wall.
Does this ring a bell with anyone and if so where could that be found?
Thanx

This may be a A:M 101 Question but how can I animate a decal on the face of an object? Mainly I want it to be able to rotate over time.
Thanx

OK, I'm totaly confused.
Can you give an example or tell us what you're trying to accomplish?

Has anyone ever seen or know what became of the completed project?
All I have ever seen is the trailer which looks incredible but I wasn't sure if the whole picture was ever completed.

I am not familiar with the "fellows".
Would you say that it's the "Fellowship of the RIG"?

I just thought of what might be a good idea.
Personally, I think that A:M is a great program and has tons of potential but I'm kind of bummed that a) people don't know about it some people who do don't take it seriously and c) more people aren't using it. So I was thinking why doesn't Hash try to get themselves booked on a program like TechTV's The Screen Savers?
I'm thinking that A:M would be right down their alley because they're always looking for and talking about programs that are powerful and yet accessible to the masses which A:M is exactly that.
Just bring a demo real of some of the projects that have been done with A:M and do a quick demo almost like the new web demo you have and who knows what could happen. Personally, I could see Leo just eating this up.
I don't know how that works if you would have to pay to be on or what, but I would think for the exposure and potential growth of the A:M community it would be worth the investment.
Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Very nice though I think that Vader could stand to gain some weight. His arms seem a bit boney. Not what I would expect form someone who's supposed be pretty menacing.
-
Would it be called something else because I see no file named Fantact here.
-
Very nice. I would check your reference for the logo on the black costume.
This may not be the best reference out there but it may help you.http://actionfiguresbygofigure.com/media/b...an(classic).jpg

I may have missed this if it has been posted in the past, but what are Hash's plans/timetable on developing A:M for the G5?
I'm probably planing on getting one after the first of the year price drops and just wanted to know.
Thanx

I'm trying to search the old postings and I get an error every time.

Hey Vern,
It's been a couple of days and just wanted to see what the latest news was on this.
Thanx

That's a pretty good model of Capt. Grabass.
-
Vern,
would you please post this on the ARM?
I agree. This would be the best.
You know if some of us who have Acrobat wanted to we could paste in some screen shots of the windows the manual refers to in the text.

Well first off, when you have anything with monkeys in it you already have a winner on your hands. Plus the fact that your daughter is adorable doesn't hurt things.

Think of Keekat as that frog you had in biology class.
Just take the time to dissect the snot out of him to help you better understand poses and relationships that you can then apply to other characters.
Anyone know where to get the Jeff Lew DVD models?

Here's the link:
Jeff Lew's Free Models.
I'm a little sad that he didn't include Big Blue (as I call him) in the downloads but hey, take what you can get.
