  1. Hi Yossi.

Yes AM can export still images in a number of different formats, jpg,tga etc.

There is a plugin available to export directly to swf, wich will ,I believe be included in AM c here:- swf plugin

There are lots of posts about the subject, so I will not bother to repeat what everyones said....

Here are some links worth looking at:-

Including one on how to fake it:-

Just do a search of the forum.

  2. The right hand needs to stay flat and facing up to display the object. The position of the head at the start looks wrong. After releasing the glue for woot to catch, his L hand pulls the shears from under his apron. When he hops, the jump needs to speed up slightly and his right arm snaps back too much.

I also need to add the lips synch.

  3. More on the same themw, errors need to be addressed are:-

I want him to look at the glue pot as he throws it, that will also help with speech.

When he puts his foot down, I want the body to be balanced better.Again with the foot spin - cant seem to find that bone though.

I need to speed the hop up as his weight doesnt move properly. If I kepp the feet on the ground longer, that might work. Also I must make sure the shift in keys wont affect the subsequent animation. The snip snip will be done with scissors, so that needs to be tied into the arms.

  4. First of todays uploads. Lots of things going wrong here. When he throws the pot, he needs to throw it more to the left, and keep his arm up. The right foot needs to be planted firmly and left where it is.And when he spins, he seems to be doing so on his heel. I was sure there was an alteration in the squetch rig for spinning somewhere.

Hope to get some of the action files uploaded this weekend.

  5. Thank you Martin,

I thought I was OK on this but wanted to check.

I seem to remember you writing somewhere that you used the Animate button to relocate characters in the factory scene.(or I imagined that). But now isn't a good time to realise that your character has danced off the walkway.

    Do you ever sleep?

  6. I have just loaded the cho file _02_07_065 from the TWO database, and found it does not match the one I am working off - which was _02_07_064 as per instructions. Could someone please confirm/deny that the choreography file in 2_07_065 has the characters upstairs in the wrong place? ASAP?

    Chris

  7. Even though I dont think this is sorted out yet, I want to move on and come back to it.Updating the svn database caused some problems with my files, as they kept hunting for things - It had no impact on the action files, just the project wouldn't load properly. I also did a "save as" for an action file and got an access denied report. When I came to reload the action, it just wasnt anywhere.

When he says" to make IT stick" hes meant to show an object in his hand. He does, but theres too much movement going on, and you can't read it properly. So I am going to have to slow it down.

Also Problems with the woot reacaction action mean I have turned him OFF for now. This is the last one in the 10-15 sectill tomorrow. I am not happy with the apron either.

Lots of stuff in a - get rid of the glue, direction change, arms, lip synch and cutters come back.

Yesterday commited the solderer model, today Iwill add the modified welding mask.

  8. Thanks for the help. Martin.

And you Ken. I'll give it a try.

Ken- don't panic. The only "altered" model was one of the props-a great helm I think. I remodeled it into a welding mask, and saved it as a seperate model so that I didn't change anything. The mask doesnt even go into the choreography.

The others were all things modeled just for this sequence.

    Darn pressed update.

Just a few more corrections on this bit before I move on.

Cloth gets done at the end of polishing. But I think his apron has smartskins on it. It'll get done eventually.

    Great!

Woots hat and straight knees....got it.

lip sync? whats lip sync?....Already done it.

How are you going to integrate this action into the set?

I keep checking it in the workshop, but the render takes way too long for a test sequence, so I made a cho window without the background, placcing the 2 characters and camera in their correct position.

edit due to forgetfullness. added clip

  10. Due to work, family and computer problems, I have not updated this thread in a while. Sorry Martin et al.

Rather than skip ahead I will post from where I left off.

In this segment he is supposed swap the soldering device for a pot of glue(complete with brush)

He's also supposed to be holding the mystery object in his right hand.

Many, many things wrong here.Disembodied glue pots, animation errors. Specialy the scary eyes.I want the burner flame to waver about as well. While on the subject, do I do the apron with cloth at the end of animating?

    Woot definately needs attention.

  11. I have to say first of all that you can do everything in AM.

Having said that, sometimes its easier not to.

I tend to draw or get given a shot of what I is needed in each segment of a scene in a storyboard sheet or you could use 3/4 ratio rectangles. Then I scan this in and put together an animatic using AM or whatever(I use premiere pro). That way you can edit the sequence without wasting animation.

I then model and set up each scene in am using one chor. per scene. If the direction calls for camera inserts or different shots in that scene, its all done in that cho(mostly)

Sometimes I use the same cho for different scenes, or just one cho for the whole thing. It just depends on what seems easier. Then I animate each scene and render a test mov, placing each finished test in place of the storyboard shot. And check it out for editing

Once the tests are done or re-done, I render out each frame as numbered tga's in named folders. Then bring it all together -compositing- sfx, vocals and frames using premiere pro.

You could add titles in the compositing stage, or simply make models of the text using font wizard in AM and use that

  12. EDIT: I'm probably mistaken - perhaps I am looking at 2 different frames? The last and next to last?

Yes, sorry, that was the next and next to last. When I said the tre-render looks the same, I meant it looks the same as the frame posted, and this one - the second posted- shows the same thing

  13. Mmmmmmm

All the rendering was done using 14a

The motion blur was set to 50%

All the other frames seem to have motion blur, except this one.The rendering was finished some time in the evening, so I didn't interupt it. I am just going to re-render this frame and check if its the same.

This is 93 in the sequence

    1_01_14_0093.jpg

  14. Last frame in 1_01_14 - the render times varied from 12 mins to 50 mins, depending on the contents of the shot,

Has anyone else experienced problems with senduit?

I tried uploading last night, and again this morning, it goes so far in the process, but never seems to produce a link to the file. I dont seem to be doing anything wrong in the process, the zip file size is 66.5 mb (.rar files are 54.1 but that isn't uploading either)

    Now rendering 1_01_30b

    1_01_14_0094.jpg

  15. Frames Rendered 42

    Frames Left 53

    Average Time 0:13:11

    720 x 405 Final

    Multi Pass, 5 Pass

    Shadows

    Reflections, Levels = 1

    Motion Blur 50%

    Depth of field

Hope to finish this one this evening,

    Chris

  16. I would certainly consider using decals for the frog skin, rather than materials.

Materials are nice, but they are not so easy to blend - plus they can push the render times way up.

I would set up the frog in various decal poses - there are several nice tutorials on the web for this - just like texturing a face.

Produce skin maps(decals) using the materials you already have, then use painting techniques, layering bumps etc.to achieve exactly the results you want. That way you can produce just the sort of blending you want, as well as make specularity, bump and other maps.

  17. Thanks for commenting Ken.

"Is he cutting or braising?" Neither - I thought he was in the workshop, not the kitchen! He might be BRAZING though :)

Ku klip swaps the scissors out of shot for a gas torch in this segment.

"Do you know you can link to your uploaded movie on svn" Am I supposed to up the test movies onto svn then? at the moment all the stuff-models/aactions etc is in C/resources/work in progress/kuklip song/

Main t hings to change here:-

    1) Lip Synch

    2) He's holding his left arm and the solderer out of shot when he lights it.

    3) Someones got slidey feet then

    4) He has to swap out the helmet for the glue
