Nice fix on the roof. Great job X.

Heres another update. This is the bath so far.
-
Nice!
Thanks.
and you also have the problem that the normals of the five-point-patches at the top of the sink flip randomly without no reason...It renders fine so i'm not worried about it.
When you do mechanical modeling like this, do you peak all the lines and tweak the bias handles? If so....Is there a way to set peak on all the time for mechanical modeling?
George
Not really sure. I adjust peaks and opens splines as I build.
Yes, very nice start there.I started a while ago doing my whole ground floor
and found this to be inspirational and will dig out those files
and get going again on it.
Looking forward to seeing some textures indeed.
Thanks, and I am starting on the bathroom now. So as soon as its done I will post again.

Heres where I'm at now. I hope to get on surfacing by Tuesday. I still need to build the bathroom first though...
-
Looks great. Love the shot. Did you notice the artifacts on the tops of the buildings?

Try to work on your texturing. I'm not a big fan of procedural materials. I always have better luck using images. Your model looks great. But its to clean. The image you have for reference could be used to texture it. If you need some texture application ideas, just let me know.

As a matter of fact, I did have soft R turned on at that time and have since turned them off. Tell me more about the issue noober.
I have had probs before with reflections. The culprit for me was 2 things. Soft reflections were causing patches next to each other be different color. The other thing i found was objects that had no reflection needed to be set, reflectivity to 0%. This was causing things that had no reflections set render like a mirror.
Hope this helps.

That looks great! How long did it take to render? Could you give us a replay of how you setup the lighting/render/AO...???
Render took about 1 hour. And ill post the settings as soon as i get a chance.

That sure looks nice to me ! thanks for sharing..... what type of project is this, that is if your free to say....
Its a full length film about King David and his 2 sons.
are the lines between the bricks painted on or is that still a toonline effect?Yes the lines are decals. Like i said it will be rendered in toon, and those kind of things really help. But with AO it wasn't so necessary but it does add a nice feel in my opinion.
-
This was another scene i had to build for work. And like the rest of the project it will be in toon. I think i heard its a night scene too. So basically i got bored and wanted to play with AO. Hope you guys enjoy.

Soft reflections being used?

So Ive been doing some planning for my personal demo reel. Here was a test that I did. This clip when complete will be part of my demo. Don't be ruff. Its just a small taste of something much bigger on the horizon.

Sheet music should be hand written.

Hello im new to A:M.
Theres a couple of things i've already tried out in A:M, I have like discovered things myself by experimenting and so on... STILL, theres some things I wonder about:
- Is It possible to make full lenght animations? because I noticed that the frames are only to 01:00 min
If it is like that, then is it possible to melt all the short clips together by using A:M?
- I wish to add special 3d effects to an already made .AVI clip. I try to load the clip into A:M but it says that its an invalid choreography file.
How can I correct this? or is there any tutorial that can show how you can add 3d models into avi clips etc.
- Is it possible to import milkshape models (ms3d)?
Thanks for helping out
cheers
8imon
yes, click the render to file button, then set the range to whatever.
it needs to be on a decal or as a rotoscope.
Some imports are allowed... but you will get geometry problems.

Looks really good and is that all in A:M.
What is tgas? (my sick corrupted mind can thing of several things, but probably not the right one)
Al
All AM, tgas are 32 bit targas with an alpha channel.
-
I wanted to test some tgas i found. And since im thinking of building a race track, i wanted to check this idea out. Took 5 mins to build. 12min to render.

It was my understanding that AO was used for outdoor lighting. I have always used radiosity for indoor light.
Try using Radiosity with one light, two if you really want. You should also use the correct light color to get the most out of your image. Heres a chart i posted to help everyone. http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?act=a...st&id=35054

One site that anyone should have.
http://www.tutorials3d.com/eng/default.asp
They have blueprints and tutorials...
-
Not sure about the shaders, I use those last, only after everything is built... until then i use basic color groups.

AM2 Dual Core 4.2Ghz.
What AMD is running at 4.2ghz? The fastest I see is the 6400+ at 3.2Ghz. If you overclocked, are you on air or have you switched to water?

Excellent!!Dang, that looks good. A feast for the eyes.
Thanks guys.

Heres the link to it on cgtalk.

I've noticed you've pretty much posted the same car in the Stills Showcase quite a while ago? http://www.hash.com/stills/displayimage.ph...cat=0&pos=2
Is this the same car or a new one? I thought I saw it before.
The one that I have here is a complete new model of the same car only this is the 2008. The one I did a few years ago was the 2003 model. The old was driven by Michael Shumacher. The new one that is posted here is driven by Kimi Räikkönen.

Ok as for the time being, I'm done. And this will be summited to www.cgtalk.com.
