Thought I'd try posting my question here too. I'm interested in finding out how to use BVH Motion Chapture Data on an already TSM rigged character. If anyone reading this has any comments please post them here... Animation:Master Forum Thanks.

I'm wondering how people deal with the rest pose in TSM. By that I mean the pose from which all other poses start and the character has it's hands by it's sides. What I'm doing is rotating the arms to the side in the pre-rig as I want to have this same pose for multiple characters. But when I put it through TSM and get the constrained rig, that pose doesn't work. Other stuff does like customised bones and setting the eyes up to follow a target. So, how can I manipulate the pre-rig bones and have the pose transfer to the constrained rig? Will I have to use an action? Thanks!

Hi folks: Some time ago, I purchased the Set up Machine but have not been able to use it as much as I would like to. With this said, I'm building a Sea turtle character and am in the process of rigging it. My question is, can I use the setup machine for this? The reason why I ask is because although I'm using the naming of bones that TSM will understand, the anatomy is quite different. To better illustrate this, I've included a picture of the model in bones mode and the PWS with the names given to the bones used. You will notice that it has two shoulder bones (designated one and two), and the back fins have strange proportions as far as bones are concerned. …

I love all the Anzovin training CDs that I have gotten so far and would love to get more but I'm getting poor buying all these. Maybe there is a frequent buyer program from Anzovin that I don't know about (hint, hint)?!?

I've been watching Jeff Lew's videos and he likes to have a straight spine on his characters. It means that it rotates parallel to the ground. I notice that TSM rig has a curved spine. Is there a reason for that?

I have to say, I've never seen a more comprehensive how-to video in modelling than this one. Congratulations guys! Great job! I'm having a little trouble, though, trying to adapt the tutorial to a model I'm building of a cartoon sea turtle. Sort of like "Crush" in Finding Nemo. But as you know, the anatomy is completely different in that the eyes are on the side of the head for instance, and the nose is almost nonexistant. So I'm really struggling with this one. Do you have any advise for me? Here's a screenshot of the model. I'll appreciate the feedback. Thanks! front.jpg.zip

Hi, I don't own TSM yet (still evaluating), but I did read through the pdf. I'm a little confused on the order of setting up the rig. The pdf said to do all your smartskin before running the rig. If you are already boning the character, doing the smartskin, and checking joints, what is the actual TSM step for? Does it just get rid of the extra control bones? I guess I'm a little confused about what the setup step does. (Note this is coming from someone who is still modeling and hasen't tried a rig yet. Hence the interest in the program!) Also, How does the rig handle centipede type creatures? My creature has about 40 segments, each with two legs. …

Impatiently working my way through "Rigging a Face", but when I try to watch the section 10_EYE_CONTROLS my computer returns with input / output error, The other files work ok, but not this one. I have tried 1) Cleaning the cd (PROPERLY) 2) Cleaning my cd player 3) Copying all files to hard disk 4) Playing with different players 5) Putting my head in my hands and sobbing uncontrolably none of the above seem to have any effect. If you could maybe point me in the right direction it would be apprediated! ****************************************************** http://home.btconnect.com/FatclownFilms/ Ambition is critical *************…

Glad to see this forum. Not sure what to think! So let me start with this: I've heard a lot about TSM. It really seems like a must have utility. Now with the impending change/addition to an A:M plugin it would seem like this is the time to jump on board. So convince me... why do I need The Setup Machine?
