  5. Apparently I just imagined this whole thing. I had a group folder named WIRES where I had 2 grps. "Front" and "Back" and they were NOT rendering as lines no matter WHAT I did, but when I copied and pasted the groups into a new model and then pasted them back into the original they just magically rendered correctly and I saved the model out so I could send it to you. Now I cannot reproduce the problem AT ALL as if it never happened. So, thanks robcat! Not sure how you did it but it seems to be fixed. (Honestly, this really happened - I'm NOT making this up)
  6. I'm able to get lines when I try. Can you send me a sample PRJ that doesn't make lines for you?
  7. Sorry. It means that I set all the settings and still it won't render as lines. Am I still not making sense?

  11. I'm not sure what you mean by "...set a line width and randomness but NO lines."
  12. Made sure group is NOT a closed patch, select render as lines to ON and set a line width and randomness but NO lines. Once again I need to know where the "idiot" toggle is. Any help appreciated.

  16. At Live Answer Time today we looked at Toon Render settings During the session, I was baffled that the "Thermo" toon gradient did not render crazy colors as I recall it doing. I later found that back in v15 it still worked as I expected. Copying the "Thermo" gradient from v15 to v19.5 fixed the problem. Copy this .gra file to the "Gradients" folder in your v19.5 A:M folder to get the original "Thermo" coloring. Thermo.gra @Pizza Time

  20. My animation for the second assignment at Animation Mentor, 20 years ago this week. Now with sound! The "boings" are done on my cello, the impact on the cube is a whack on a cardboard box and the grinding sound is two bricks scraped against each other.

  22. I recently render an animation using toon Render. I was wondering do guys have any Tips or any suggestions for really cool looking Renders using toon Render. What setting for shadowing or Line quality or anything do you recommend. Or anything you recommend -Thanks
  23. AH! the camera bgrnd color of course !! So funny-the manual says you can select a color for the fog and then doesn't tell you how to do it. Thanks robcat.

  25. The Camera "background color" is the fog color. The color will be mixed with the regular render from 0% at the fog start distance to 100% at the fog end distance.
  26. Ok I get how it works now, it fades things to darkness but still would like to know how to select a color for the fog.
  27. POSTED A VERSION OF THIS A LITTLE WHILE AGO THEN FIX THE RENDER
  28. Take this clump of intersecting solids Render a Toon line with high bias... And a toon line with low bias... Composite them to leave just the difference (sort of)... Use that to mask a blur on the first image and get something kind of like bevels on the intersecting edges of surfaces...
