The Mickey Mouse Club Double Long Open

The original run of "The Mickey Mouse Club" was before my time but I did catch it when it was re-run in the 70s.

Those episodes were all B&W so I never saw this color version and i've never seen it this lonnnnggg.

Notice the very thick black outline on the characters which I presume is for clarity on old TV. I thought Hanna-Barbera invented that but this predates their first TV animation.

Related but unrelated... some Mickey Mouse I've also never seen before...

Every Mickey Mouse club had a 30 second opening with Mickey dressed as a different character depending on the day of the week. Some of Mickey's nicest animation IMHO...it was done by John Lounsbery or Les Clark (I think)

Two of those animators were from the Nine Old Men...the 9 master animators that worked at Disney for years and set the level of excellence they were known for.

They also had Mickey at the end of the show (still in costume) saying goodbye to everyone. Here are two o them ( in blak and white)

They can be downloaded and played but they seem to be in MPEG-4 rather than h.264 which is what .mp4 typically is.

It's possible this is a browser-configuration thing... like maybe a plug-in can be added to accommodate this video.

In Firefox the plugin that handles h.264 is supposed to also handle MPEG-4... but it never does for me.

I notice they are silent. Did they have sound?

Thanks for the explanation of the Mp4 formats.

Here is a YouTube clip with one of the ending animations.(The animation starts around 1:51...)

All the animation had sound but the ones I shared did not as I downloaded the clips without sound just so I could enjoy the animation.
