Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted December 13, 2023 Hash Fellow Share Posted December 13, 2023 This is what I get from the two OBJs when I do Objects>Import>Prop The top one looks whacked. I don't see a solution for it. The bottom one is a triangle model, those will always look bad if converted to MDL . The texture image is in a weird MS .dds format. I don't know if it can be converted.
Pizza Time
wow thats crazy! how can i get the triangle model(the bottom one)
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted December 13, 2023 Hash Fellow Share Posted December 13, 2023 When you import an OBJ as a Prop it stays as polygons and you can't edit it, you can only use it in chors.
Fuchur
Interestingly, if I try to import it to Unwrap3d, it has problems too. Anyway after I exported it again as OBJ it killed of A:M while opening the model. BUT, if I export it to STL and reimport it to A:M, it works. You will loose the textures, but the model itself is imported fine. Best regards *Fuchur* PS: Still: 3point polygon models are not great for A:M. gun_01.mdl
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted December 15, 2023 Hash Fellow Share Posted December 15, 2023 If I download the DDS Viewer Program and convert the .dds file to .bmp, then alter the .mtl file to change the image link from .dds to .bmp, I get this. It resembles a scrambled bitmap that has incorrect width and height stored
