KingVidiot Posted August 18, 2017 Posted August 18, 2017 Hello All, I'm curious if anyone has the free AM supporting tools posted by Jun Kawa on his Japanese website many years ago. Jun Kawa was the guy that made the iMac girls. I can't get them on his page through the Wayback Machine website, but here it is for reference. Some of the site pics still load, so you can see what the apps did. I can post some examples here if people are interested. https://web.archive.org/web/20050301215701/http://www.core.jsdi.or.jp:80/ggg/ The tools were super useful for complex objects in Animation Master format (create in each app, open AM, open a new MDL in AM, R-click, and import the v.4 SEG file created by each tool). The old Hash3d v.4 SEG format is not immediately "importable" in the AM File Import dialog. I can import the SEG files in AM 7.1 (99), AM 8.5 (2000), and AM 11.5 (2005). I haven't tried in AM 2016 yet. Yes, I'm a pack rat. AM Loft was great, but these tools offer other options, so they are complementary. Anyway, I was able to find the free standalone EXE apps (yes, Windows only) out of my vast archive, but now I see that I never got SMX2 or Tenku-X. I don't even see what they do. I have the other tools which are great fun: Tamen-X - faceted items, jewels, etc. Rasen-X - helices, springs, screws Rebump-X - similar to Bryce, load a BMP and it creates complex terrains, etc. Of course all of these can go to extreme settings to make weird stuff. It's a shame to let these tools go into oblivion, since they have some cool functionality, and they were free downloads. They even work in Win7 64-bit. :-) You can private message me if you don't want to post the apps here. I can provide a zip of the ones I have if it's OK with the mods. Since I couldn't get Petr Sorfa to provide more details on his old Python plugin to use in modern versions which made killer mathematical apps in AM, I'm happy to have at least some of these apps to extend AM's functionality. Thanks... Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted August 18, 2017 Hash Fellow Posted August 18, 2017 I remember those names,I think the Terrain Generator Wizard does something like Rebump X The Primitive Wizard and the Extrude Wizard can make helixes and spirals I don't recall enough about Tamen X output Quote
KingVidiot Posted August 18, 2017 Author Posted August 18, 2017 They are nice easy to use tools and they can do extreme things.I like the wizards too, but I always enjoyed these. AM Loft does a lot as well. Now with the new Blender OBJ export process discussed elsewhere, there are even more ways to get cool models in AM. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted August 18, 2017 Hash Fellow Posted August 18, 2017 I can provide a zip of the ones I have if it's OK with the mods. Yes, I think that would be OK. If you edit your first post to put them there I think people will find them easier. Thanks! Quote
