thejobe Posted February 5, 2013 Share Posted February 5, 2013 Hey guys, "Paperman" i was directed to watched this film and it is amazing. it shows a mixture of using traditional animation with 3D techniques. the styling is great! now the question is what can someone do to make animation master get the same "feel" as this. i know is has been done before with that one film pirates, i was thinking of moving my film in this direction. John Bigboote Posted February 5, 2013 Share Posted February 5, 2013 An individual or team could certainly use A:M to emulate this style, but you gotta remember- this is Disney that did this, with immense resources, artists, designers and time. There is a lot of 2D integrated in this as well, not only backgrounds but in the character stuff too... it's not a simple 'shader' doing that look- it's sweat by talented artists and animators. It starts with 3D animation, then there's some kind of software they've developed that allows you to sketch lines onto the characters at key frames.
