tomross2002 Posted June 28, 2012 Posted June 28, 2012 I would love to see a tutorial of a humanoid character pick up a bottle, raise it to his lips then drink and replace. the hand movements and constraints required is something that novices like myself really need to focus on. thanks guys and girls! Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted June 28, 2012 Hash Fellow Posted June 28, 2012 Briefly , I'll note that the "Open the door" tut in TAoA:M covers the process of temporarily constraining one object to another. Quote
tomross2002 Posted June 28, 2012 Author Posted June 28, 2012 okay, I will spend some time with that 1 until I get it, appreciate your fast reply. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted June 28, 2012 Hash Fellow Posted June 28, 2012 Your character must be smart... he's practically all head! Quote
tomross2002 Posted June 28, 2012 Author Posted June 28, 2012 He actually started as an egg, overtime he has evolved more humanistic traits. you should see my Obama! Lol. Spot-on! when I get home I'll post him. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted June 28, 2012 Hash Fellow Posted June 28, 2012 I like your sample scenario of drinking a beer. That may show up in a relevant tutorial if i get around to it. Quote

If its not to late, these tutorials might be of help to you in getting your charters interacting with objects in their environments. The vid in the first post was made in A:M 2003 and Compensate Mode works slightly differently now but still all very useful info. And all of HomeSlice's stuff is invaluable. http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=27647 Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted July 1, 2012 Hash Fellow Posted July 1, 2012 Starting with v16 I believe, "Compensate Mode" is on automatically when you choose to make a constraint. You may need to remember to turn it OFF if you are dong an old tut that doesn't say to turn it ON. Quote
