*A:M User* Roger Posted February 20, 2012 *A:M User* Share Posted February 20, 2012 I thought this was a cute little story, but also is pretty impressive - supposedly the card is able to render it in real time. Card is about $500 or so. I would have a really hard time justifying purchasing it, unless Open CL is going to appear on the horizon soon. Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 20, 2012 Hash Fellow Share Posted February 20, 2012 Since that is "Direct X" it doesn't use OpenCL. What would it take to incorporate that functionality into A:M... I'm not sure.
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 21, 2012 Hash Fellow Share Posted February 21, 2012 I'm not sure what the distinction is between "forward" rendering and "deferred" rendering (mentioned in the notes) and how that applies to this situation. Edit... FWIW, here is someone's brief description of the two... forward vs. deferred Forward sounds like what A:M does, but I don't really know. Yeah, I couldn't say, I've never heard of those terms. Would be nice if AM could use something like this, otherwise I have no use for it. John Bigboote
Yeah... I don't know what I was looking at. I saw a cool cartoon. Was it real-time rendered?
