Simon Edmondson
I hope I'm asking this in the right place ? It might sound odd but, is there a way to change the way joints are listed in the action and choreo files. Not the names but the way the hierarchy is listed at the side ? At first I thought it was the order on which the bones were selected at first but. I tried to select them in the order I would use them later and it still seems to come out the same. descending it reads Back Back 2 Head Hips Then the first finger joint then the bicep What I 'd like to do is to get the hierarchy in order so it descended as Bicep Forearm Hand Thumb 1 Thumb2 Thumb3 First finger Furst Finger 2 First Finger 3 and so on. This might seem like a petty question (?) but its just that it would make it easier when animating. Hope so anyway ! regards simon
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted February 20, 2012 Hash Fellow Share Posted February 20, 2012 Are they not alphabetical? In any event, the order they appear in the chor or action can not be changed. However... the Enhanced Selection Filters feature lets you define any arbitrary set of bones for display as a group. So you could have a finger set and a spine set and a face set or any combination of those. Yes, it is easier to animate if you can get related bones to appear near each other. Some smarty pants has made a video demonstrating Enhanced Selection Filters in this post.
detbear
Robert... You beat me to it man.... I was just looking up the link to your selection sets video tutorial... SELECTION SETS is a great new feature......especially for animators who like to be able to quickly select certain bones or sets of bones. This makes getting keyframes set fast and improves the animation workflow a great deal. ALSO...a big hats of to Robcat for making a great "How to use it" Vid.'
