tbenefi33 Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 I'm thinking about working on a new project it's the between border of the United States and Mexico I can't make my mind up though if I wanna do it though. I thought about making the border map full scale think that would take up a lot space what would be the average scale size for a project like this ? Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted December 23, 2011 Hash Fellow Posted December 23, 2011 What are you actually going to show? Quote
tbenefi33 Posted December 23, 2011 Author Posted December 23, 2011 I was just showing where the fence was going to be on the yellow line of the black map but not sure what scale to use on the fence or layout , as you get into each state there be like different terrain and what not. Sorry for the mix up it's been a long day. Quote
mouseman Posted December 23, 2011 Posted December 23, 2011 The bigger question is: What are the min and max X, Y, and Z values in a Choreography? And do they get less precise as the numbers get bigger? If you are doing a fly-over kind of thing, maybe it would be better to have the terrain cut into sections, and then move the various sections beneath the camera. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted December 24, 2011 Hash Fellow Posted December 24, 2011 I dont' know if there's a maximum but I recall people previously having trouble with small details on the extremes of very large objects. Quote
John Bigboote Posted December 24, 2011 Posted December 24, 2011 Could be something that could potentially sell to news organizations, as that region becomes more and more newsworthy. Start wide, so you can see where it is on the globe(both oceans) and detail it as much as you can for zoom ins. Scale is irrelevant in 3D... start modelling... once you have some stuff done- drag it into the choreography so you can see how it scales to the A:M camera, then scale up or down in the model until it looks good to your eye and what you are envisioning. God-speed on this project! Quote
tbenefi33 Posted December 24, 2011 Author Posted December 24, 2011 Thank you John Bigboote, Robcat2075, and mouseman Right now I can't make my mind up which way I wanna go with this project hmmmm looks like it's back to the drawing board to sketch a few things out. Quote
