TurboGorilla Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 Hi, I am looking for someone who can model an astronaut for me. I'm thinking something along the lines of a U.S. Astronaut something like that attached. It wouldn't need to be terribly detailed, but some details. :-) Is that vague enough? I'll know what I want when I see it. Ha! I'll probably want additional modeling work from you, assuming you do a good job with the first one, when you're done with the Astronaut. I'm not rich, just a one-person animator who has zero modelling skills. If this sounds like something you would be interested in doing and you don't charge an arm and a leg, please contact me as soon as possible. Thank you! sodonnnell@turbogorilla-software.com Quote
HomeSlice Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 The email address above bounces with a permanent fatal error: "recipient does not have an account". You should also update your contact email for the domain turbogorilla-software.com via your domain registrar. Before I can give you an estimate, I have some questions. 1) How realistic do you want it? 2) Do you want to see the astronaut's face/head? Or will the helmet visor always be down? 3) Will he/she be removing his/her helmet? 4) If he/she needs a face, does the face need to be rigged for animation? 5) How much articulation do you need in the body? A "real" astronaut would have very little articulation because of the extremely bulky suit, but a cartoon-ish astronaut might have much more flexibility. TurboGorilla Posted February 1, 2011 Author Posted February 1, 2011 Hi, I don't know why the email would be giving you problems. I've used it for years as-is. That's very strange for sure. In any event, once again the email contact is sodonnell@turbogorilla-software.com Yes, his visor will always be down so no need for a face. Although a suggestion of a face inside might be kind of cool. It’d let you make the visor be a bit opaque, depending on lighting. I want this to be cartoon realistic. That is, I want enough detail that it doesn’t look all flat and like a coloring book drawing, but it doesn’t have to be something that would fool anyone into thinking it was photo-realistic. I would like enough articulation that I can put the model through a series of tumbles and flips and I’ll probably end up bouncing him around a bit. Yes, stiff too because a pressure suit is stiff, but cartoon-stiff would be fine. Please let me know if you have any other questions! TurboGorilla Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 FYI, despite the previous post, I am still looking for someone who can do this model for me. Thanks for your interest! Quote
John Bigboote Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 I'll see if I can get the email address to work... I can really recommend Holmes tho! EDIT: Went thru for me... try again Holmes, copy/paste his email address... there are 3 Ns in O'Donnell in his address. Quote
Admin Rodney Posted February 2, 2011 Admin Posted February 2, 2011 Not to divert any jobs here but someone recently modeled a cartoon-real astronaut for the 'Bus Stop' project. If that style is appropriate that may help with a quick turn around on this. As it is already on view in an animated scene you can even get a good idea of the rigging. Edit: Looks like it was Tim Quote

John Bigboote Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Well, a week later I get a Mailer-Daemon saying my mail did NOT go thru to that email address... so good luck to anyone trying to work for him, glad to see he found his model. Quote
