mtpeak2
What's the best way to keyframe poses? [EDIT] This thread started out as BVH and TSM2, but has been edited for the subject you see now.
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted October 20, 2009 Hash Fellow Share Posted October 20, 2009 A solution I like better is to make a set of draggable poses (fist, point, claw, flat...) since those will make keyframes on the actual bones and give you "presets" it's easy to work from. HEY! I go about this the same way! A pose slider for 'FIST-left', 'FIST-right', 'POINT-left','POINT-right' and so on...pose it once and use it over and over again. Not a pose slider... if you pose the bones in an ON/OFF pose you can drag the pose onto the character and the bones will actually be keyed in the same action all your other keys are in for easy modification and better inbetweening. Tut in the tuts link in my sig.

I recall Victor Navone , a long time ago, asking to get it back. And it seems to be there now.
itsjustme
Making an on/off Pose for FK/IK will set keys as well. I have an example of this at about 4:50 into the "animatinghands" video located here. The advantage of doing it this way would be that the keys could be something less than a full fist, for example.
