jakerupert
Hi all, I am experimenting with layers. The tractor is supposed to run between the right field-layer in the foreground and the left field-layer behind, wheras the farmhouse and sky are on an extra background-layer. One major drawback: Seems when I toonrender, I can`t avoid an outline around the layers or is there a way? I guess a workaround would be a cookie cut decal on a one patch plane? In fact that leads me to my main question: What really is the difference between a layer and a decal on a plane and which advantage and setbacks does each have? Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted April 8, 2009 Hash Fellow Share Posted April 8, 2009 What really is the difference between a layer and a decal on a plane and which advantage and setbacks does each have? They are basically the same. A layer is automatically set to 100% ambiance intensity. But a decal on a patch will allow you to set toon line thickness to 0 and toon shading method to "standard" which will make it render non-toon. Make sure that in Render Settings Toon>Override Shading and Override Lines are OFF
