animation man hi Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 I have tried doing the baggage patch water tutorial millions of times. But it I can't seem to translate most of the old version steps to v13. If anyone can help that would be great. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted January 24, 2009 Hash Fellow Posted January 24, 2009 could you give a link to it and point to the steps that you are having trouble with? Quote
photoman Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 Check the tutorials section of the forum. I made a open ocean tut a few months back. Quote
animation man hi Posted January 24, 2009 Author Posted January 24, 2009 To answer robcat. when he says to set the ambience i don't know how to do that. and when he says to set the z and stuff. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted January 24, 2009 Hash Fellow Posted January 24, 2009 ambience is a surface property of a model or a "group" in a model. Check the Help menu for more info on that. when he says to set the z and stuff. This is where a link to the tut would be helpful. And indication of where he says that. Quote
animation man hi Posted January 24, 2009 Author Posted January 24, 2009 Photoman, I did your tutorial and it looked great, thanks. but how do I make it move like reel ocean. Quote
photoman Posted January 24, 2009 Posted January 24, 2009 Easy, in your choreography click the unarchive thingy and change the translation points over a period of time. I will make a tutorial and post it later today. If you are advanced you can try displacement mapping to make waves. Those (if you can get them to work and look good) take massive amounts of rendertime though/ Photoman Edit: Answered wrong question Quote
