LensOnLife Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Hi, I want to model a couple of aircraft, I can get the plans as DWG files. What I am looking for is some software that can read these files and if push comes to shove I could then do screen capture to convert to jpg files - although it would be nice if the software could do it for me Any ideas anyone - says he hopefully Oliver Quote
Luuk Steitner Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 You can use this tool to convert DWG files to PDF Quote
photoman Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Oh the DWG file... AutoCAD at its finest... I personally hate them (I work with vectorworks) b/c they are such a pain to import into other software. (Out of scale, layers inaccurate etc.) A little rant, photoman Quote
jzawacki Posted August 24, 2008 Posted August 24, 2008 Not that I'm promoting it (I personally don't like SolidWorks, but that is only because I have to support 50 engineers using it) but eDrawings 2008 can open them.. and they have a free version. Download eDrawings 2008 If that doesn't work, start here: Downloads Scroll down to the bottom and click on eDrawings. Next, select eDrawings view only at the bottom and select Next. Click the agreement and download. Quote
