animation man hi Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 I made a monster head and tried adding bones. when I added a bone to the lower jaw and moved my model into a chor and tried moving the bones the whole model moved instead of just the lower jaw how do I fix this. Quote
glenn Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Have you made sure the jaw bone is a child of the head bone! A screen shot of the project may help. Glenn Quote
animation man hi Posted April 3, 2008 Author Posted April 3, 2008 Their is a bone in the neck to the head if you can't see it. This is my first model I ever made so i would also like some criticism Quote

glenn Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Wait do need the Body made to do this. Hi You don't always need a body for this to work. I'm now in from work and I'll try to post a screen shot of something Im working on. Glenn Quote
animation man hi Posted April 3, 2008 Author Posted April 3, 2008 Thanks are their any tutorials on adding bones to a monster and not just a human. Quote
largento Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Mechadelphia started making a tutorial for rigging, you can find the link in this thread: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showt...gging+tutorial# It'll give you some idea on how to start, I'm sure. I'm not sure if he ever plans to finish them. I would model the entire character before trying to rig it, but you can learn from experimenting, too. Quote
glenn Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 Hi Have a look at this sreen shot and see if it helps Glenn Quote
thefreshestever Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 when you select a bone and then create a new one it´s automaticly a child of it... don´t be afraid to experiment, you don´t have to if you backup your work... Quote
glenn Posted April 3, 2008 Posted April 3, 2008 How do I parent them If you left click(PC) on the bone you wish to be the child, you can drag the bone and drop it on the bone that is to be the parent. eg drag the jaw bone and drop it on the head bone. This should automaticaly make the jaw bone a child of the head bone. Glenn If this doesn't work please post a screen shot of the project workspace. Quote
animation man hi Posted April 3, 2008 Author Posted April 3, 2008 It won't work so here is a screen shot of my project workspace Quote
