Ravager Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 i was going to render something in the dark with a model of mine, having glowing eyes. but for some odd reason, the glowing color of the eyes seem to "leak" out some cracks.... is there a solution? you must zoom to actually see the problem... John Bigboote Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 What do you suppose is generating the 'cracks'...splines, decals...? Quote
Ravager Posted March 21, 2008 Author Posted March 21, 2008 What do you suppose is generating the 'cracks'...splines, decals...? i am unsure, i did add decals to the model, you think that would be the case? here's a side view.... Quote
Eric2575 Posted March 21, 2008 Posted March 21, 2008 Here's acouple of things you might check: 1) Check the normals of your model and make sure they are all pointing out. 2) Make sure you have continuous splines, not splines that end and then continue with another spline 3) Rework the splines around the eyes just a bit, so you don't have those splines dead end in the middle of the mesh. John Bigboote Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 IF you were showing us a front view of the croc (above) and IF you have applied some bump or displacement to your alligators skin THEN a:m is doing a very good job of showing you the glow bouncing off the texture of the skin... IF NOT, then I dunnoh. Quote
Ganthofer Posted March 22, 2008 Posted March 22, 2008 As was mentioned, there are some potential problems with the layout of the splines. I've marked the most noticable ones. Here is a link to and old, but very, very good tutorial on splinemanship. http://www.alienlogo.com/tincan/ Quote
Ravager Posted February 21, 2009 Author Posted February 21, 2009 Alright, I will try to fix that. I have noticed though that without the texture the patches don't leak, or barely at all. Quote
