ftu_de Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 I have a problem with simcloth. Why the red model glues at the blue and the ground and how I can change that. The ground and the blue model have a deflector 16 and the red model have a cloth-material with the default value. glue.mov glue.prj Quote
Paul Forwood Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Try the settings shown in this post: Cloth Settings Quote
ftu_de Posted July 12, 2007 Author Posted July 12, 2007 Sorry Paul, but I can't find the solution in your post. I'm not sure, but I think this is a bug. In the first example simcloth works fine: ct35.mov but in the second example the material glues at the cylinder: ct30.mov The only differenz: in ct35 is the Collisions Tollerence = 0.35 and in ct30 is the Collisions Tollerence = 0.3 Quote
Paul Forwood Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 The reason that the cloth is getting stuck to the cylinder is because a CP from the cloth has penetrated the cylinder wall. Careful alignment of CPs on the cloth and cylinder will help. Also increasing the number of substeps and playing with small adjustments of the collision radius may help. The sim looks good though. zandoriastudios Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 perhaps a greater density of patches will help avoid the pass-through (which is where the CPs are getting stuck and grabbing the deflector). Also increase your collision radius. Quote
Ganthofer Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 I second Will's suggestion. I have seen this problem (CP's getting stuck in the other mesh) when moving an object (deflector ) too fast or the mesh was not dense enough. Quote
ftu_de Posted July 13, 2007 Author Posted July 13, 2007 Aah, that is the problem. If I slow down the cylinder, it functions with Collisions Tollerence = 0.3. ct30_8sec.mov This was the same as ct30, but the chor range is 8 sec and I render only each fourth picture. Thank you for your help. Quote
