Mixing Videos and Animation

Is it possible to mix live action footage and animations using animation master 10.5 (2003) version?

I beleive it's been possible to do in all versions of AM. Layers are the key (or render with alpha channel for compositing). The Anzovins did a great tutorial on the subject. Good places to start looking for this information:

I just tried to add a new rotoscope (.AVI), but received an error.

 

"The file does not contain a video streaM"

Sounds like you're using a DV AVI. Try saving it using a different codec, or in MOV format.
