LazyDude Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 i made a movie but it takes really long to render is there anyway to speed rendering up? Quote
oakchas Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 short answer... no Long answer: Learn the workarounds for lighitng, texturing, and all the high computational cost items in your movie. Learn compositing, many times it can be less computationally expensive to render out seperate layers and put them back together in post. Buy a render farm and hash with net render. Realize this: Pixar's movies took up to a day (or longer) per frame to render, on average. There's a lot to learn in this animation business. Quote
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted April 30, 2006 Hash Fellow Posted April 30, 2006 possibilities: -render it smaller -render it in Shaded mode instead of Final -use shadow mapped lights instead of ray-traced ones -dont' use combiner textures what does all that mean? Those are some of the ins and outs of 3D you will get more familiar with as you do more projects. Quote
LazyDude Posted April 30, 2006 Author Posted April 30, 2006 i tryed it but i don't know what they are or where to find it Quote
Dark_Jedi Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 Rendering always bothered me. thats why i rendered at school over night (seeing as everything i do in animation is for a class). so by morning everything is fine lol Quote
