Zaryin Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 I never used the advanced hands before. Do you treat the extra bones and geometry bones? If so, what parts of the hand would be added top and/or bottom? Quote
rusty Posted April 8, 2006 Posted April 8, 2006 The fingers extend down into the hands and this shows on the back side of the hand. Hope this helps, Rusty Quote
Zaryin Posted April 8, 2006 Author Posted April 8, 2006 Thanks alot for the reply, Rusty. I think I understand. So they are Geom Bones? Do they attatch to both the top and bottom of the hand or just the top? Thanks again. Quote

Thanks again. Jeff, I'm not sure what you are asking. If you are asking if the metacarpal bones (the finger bones that run through the hand) are 'connected' to top, bottom or both... well these bones are assembled by the TSM2 plugin so you do not have to worry about it. I don't remember how it is off hand and have no way to check it right now (my stiudo is disassembled right now for painting). A guess is that these bones are not conectedat the bottom while the top they are connected to the finger bones. rusty Quote
luckbat Posted April 9, 2006 Posted April 9, 2006 I think he means the CPs, not the other bones. The truth is, it depends on the structure of your mesh. But probably yes, the middle portion of the hand, all the way around, would be CP-attached to the metacarpal bones, since otherwise their movement wouldn't do much. The idea is to keep your character's hand from looking like a paddle. If you've ever tried to wash the inside of a glass, you've seen how much your hand can curl up. Quote
