jamagica Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 for a Lewis and Clark project in school I'm presenting different tools with 3D displays. This is my first tool->the sexant Quote
bentothemax Posted May 12, 2005 Posted May 12, 2005 looks nice, maybe a rustic gold material to make it seem it came right out of the 1800s (If they had them) . . . did you use sweeper . . . i love that plug-in By the way . . . what does a sextant do? Does it mesure angles or somthing, or star locations . . . Quote
jamagica Posted May 13, 2005 Author Posted May 13, 2005 I used the sweeper demo for the two bottom arches. A sextant was a tool used to measure how high, in terms of angles, a location was. You'd peep through a sight and slowly move up the tool until you found your target. You'd look on that bottom arch, and wherever the index arm (the big thing that looks like a grandfather clock "bell") is pointing to, that's the number of degress the location is from you wherever you are Quote

jamagica Posted May 14, 2005 Author Posted May 14, 2005 Alright...added just a few things. right now the work time is slow because AM keeps closing out on me once in awhile (haven't lost anything yet) Got a q. is 707 patches for this model too much? Quote
