For a still I am planning, I need a person to walk in the rain.

What would be the best way to simulate it.

Any advise would be highly apreciated.

I would most likely start with Streaks...this is usually a good place to start for rain.

You mean make many single splines and add structure by rendering them as lines? You think that would work better then this emitter-thing?

No, I don't think that's what Gene meant. I think he referred to the Streaks Emitters (Particle System|Streaks)

Search for Streak. Select the About Streak Objects topic and go from there :)
