  1. shaggy is there but you need flash 8 player
  2. http://www.barkerfamily.plus.com/flash/handshake/index.htm i have finished the opening part of the movie but there is still loads to do. Once the sun it at its highest then its just shaggy running so no more to see at the moment. please note that there is no preloader required, so no waiting time at all as i have used a progressive download for the music and some of the video. you will need a flash 8 player in order to watch it.
  3. sorry you need flash player 8 to view it all (but its worth it). thanks for the replies
  4. well September is nearly over and here is my blog for the month (choose month and select september) http://www.barkerfamily.plus.com/ Its been a pretty tough month as I decided to go and learn Flash as I thought the Flash/A:M combination was something worth exploring. Only today (this morning) have I put together my first movie with these two apps. Its nothing to write home about but as I say the potential is huge. http://www.barkerfamily.plus.com/flash/handshake/index.htm enjoy the blog and the update - feedback as always is very welcome
  5. thanks for that. i remember going to oslo many many years ago, in the winter you must have lots of modeling time i like the shape of the head, looks neat kind of alien like.
  6. could you post the wireframe, i am always interested in learning how other people make things. btw it is much better than i could do - nice work
  7. thanks guys, it may inspire others, then again it may just put them off for life
  8. I have kept up-to-date with my blog and modeling 30 household objects (6 so far) but now I have added animations as well with the aim of 30 animations. After 3 animations I am really pleased with the progress, of course it is not wonderful or awe inspiring but I am moving in the right direction and moreover my 3rd animation gave me a sense of achievement as I was able to do everything I wanted in A:M because I had spent the time gaining the knowledge on how to do it. anyhow if you follow the link at the bottom and select the animation page you can see the progress. As usual the blog etc. is up-to-date.
  9. Hi, I am not in any position to give you critical input, just to say I particularly like the Inspector Ewe model, very good and gives a really good characterisation of a sterotypical plod. nice work - big thumbs up. I recently went to an open evening for some graduating students who were doing a similar course to yours and I have to say it was under-whelming and looking at your stuff you would have blown them away. Interested to see the final product.
  10. good looking model Eric, doesnt seem like you need that much help.
  11. no problemo Rodney, link away. I update it every single day including weekends. Lots more work on exercise 7 put in there this morning. As a perspective I hope it is interesting, due the fact that I have no animation experience whatsoever and I am a very poor artist, if it can work for me then trust me when I say no-one else should find it daunting. Then again I have yet to reach the conclusion of whether it works for me yet but the signs are promising and of course the community help is crucial.
  12. thanks seven. I already have Wink and maybe that is something for the future. Initially I want to cover all the exercises in the book then get back to them as I progress. I do agree with you that step by step is the best way to go about things. After I finish the technical section I will see if there is any interest from the community here if so then I can see what to do about putting it on the boards. I have a project in mind as well for it which will follow the book, in other words it will be all of the exercises put together in one movie. I hope to start on this in the next two or three weeks.

great model and all - really nice job penso che e bella
  14. thanks for the encouragement guys. My explanation of exercise 7 (lip synch) is how I see the aoam notes going. I cover phonemes, adding sound and an exercise on building a set of lips and adding poses. I hope it supplements a great user guide animation guide Thanks Rodney. I think that the new user forum suffers becuase people see the 'experts' in the main forum and just hit them with a question which unfortunately can be answered by themselves if they just do a little digging. Maybe a name change for the new users forum, who knows? What I do know Rodney is that there are a handful of guys on there holding it together, mainly yourself (nice job) so I can fully understand that as you cant do everything you must rely on others. I still ask all of my questions in that forum, I have only been using it for a few weeks and with zero projects under my belt I am a very new user. The blog and guide to the user guide is still going full steam and this week should see the finish of the first section (animation) complete. The technical section is filling up nicely and will hopefully be completed in September. Modeling - my nemesis, but I will get down to it soon. Over and above that I will continue to update the guide as I find new stuff out so its not a fixed document but a living one that will change as I gain more knowledge. thanks again
  15. I am getting on with it really quickly now and most of the animation section is finished and well down the track with the technical section. I kind of think of it as something for us non experts who really dont have a clue.
