  2. I was saving a newly rigged model in A:M v15j+ on my Mac running OS 10.4.11 when the power to my computer was disrupted during the save. Now, when I try to open the model in A:M it's properties (bones, groups, etc.) are listed in the workspace window, but the model itself, and it's name, do not appear (see attach picture). The model is still listed in the folder in which I saved it, showing a file size of 553k, but it won't "appear" in A:M. I do have a "pre-rigged", "pre-copy-flip-attached" model saved under a different name, but I'd like to know if there is a way to access the rigged model again before beginning the rigging work all over again. Thanks.
  3. Is there a way to render a model performing an action in a choreography so that the model and it's shadow are all that render with alpha channel = ON in the rendering options? Basically, I want to render a scene to targas with alpha channels with only the model and it's shadow appearing in each frame.

  6. I am rendering a scene with 2 models and a targa imported as a layer in a choreography. The tga image appears with a "white" outline when rendered. I have edited the image in photoshop, making sure all of the edges of the image are black, and included an alpha channel and played with the layer's options settings - "flat shaded", "occlusion", etc. - but the white outline continues to render. The image I've attached is a render using the"white render" settings I just found in another post in these forums (very beautiful, soft rendering style! - thanks, Jason!), but this "white outline/edge" I'm describing appears on the targa no matter what rendering options I choose. How do I get the image layer to render without this outline? Thanks. horse0.tga
  7. I am trying to repeat an image sequence imported as a layer in a choreography. As the attached jpeg shows, a "show more than drivers" icon is unavailable in the choreography. Where can I access "show more than drivers" for this image sequence & what the best way to repeat this 9 frame sequence? Mac OS 10.4.11 using A:M 15.0j+
  8. You're saying there's no "Curve" listing in the menu like there is in my video? What's the mac equivalent of right clicking supposed to be? Do that. And show me the menu you get when you do that. Well - it seems the 'right-click' function on my Wacom stylus is not set up properly to function correctly with A:M. So, what I'm getting by 'right-clicking' with the pen can be seen in the attached screenshot. I guess it's working as a 'shift-click' in A:M for some reason. Once I found the correct keybard mac equivalent to 'right-clicking', (control-click) the menu with "Curve" appears just as your video shows. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks.

  10. Thanks, guys. The video's great, Rob. Unfortunately, using Mac running OS 10.4 I can't seem to get the Post-Extrapolation dialog box to appear when selecting and right-clicking the keyframe points. The Channel CP Setting dialog box appears with the interpolation method choice.

  12. I have a character model with a 24-frame walk cycle that I rendered as a .tga image sequence that I want to use as a decal on another model. How do I get the walk-cycle image sequence to repeat as a decal on the other model within a choreography?
  13. What are the system requirements for running the latest version of A:M on Mac OSX? Am I just dense, or is this information very difficult to find at the Hash Store or here at the forums. I'm already running one subscription on a Mac running Tiger, but am wondering when Tiger is no longer supported.
  14. There are start, stop frame numbers in the render options for the camera as well as a step option (normally 1) - if you want every other frame it would be set step = 2. I have never tried step 3 or 4 but I suspect that would work as well Thanks, Nancy! That's very cool!
  15. I am rendering a scene and want to render every third or fourth frame. Right now I'm just entering the frame numbers with commas between each in the custom frame options dialog box when rendering, but I feel that there was an easier method that I am forgetting. Is there a way to set a render so that it renders only every other frame or however you want? Also, as my reason for rendering this way is to get a choppy, "stop-motion" look to the animation, is it possible to accomplish this in a choreography when there are camera movements and I want the camera movement to be smooth while the models I am animating have the jerky stop-motion look?

If you are having a problem moving/reordering Poses in the Properties Window you can create a temporary Folder, drag and drop the Poses into that Folder... then drag and drop the Poses out in the order you wish to have them. Finally, delete the temporary folder. ...this is the same thing mentioned above but with more words. Thanks for the simplified answer, Rodney. I am a simple man. Part of my problem was not precisely grabbing the "target" icon to the left of the pose name, but trying to select the pose from the name, which continued to cause incorrect results.
  17. I am able to reorder the poses in the User Relationships folder in the PWS, but the poses in my model's 'Properties' window stay in the order in which they were created. Is there any way to change the pose order in in the properties window?
  18. I've been fooling around with several cloud images on a hair material, basically trying to create a face model made of billowy, cloudy material. I have been rendering both in the modeling window and in a choreography and keep getting black "sooty" coloring along with some clouds. I have the transparency of my model set to 100%, so the only thing rendering is the hair material. I've messed around with properties til I've run out of ideas. Can someone point me in the direction to achieve what I trying for? Thanks.
  19. Excellent! Thanks guys! For the life of me, I couldn't find the unwanted keys or the length discrepancy, but knew it was something I was overlooking. Thought I deleted those keys when deleting all the relationship trials I went through only to realize that the "Thigh aim at Knee and Roll Like ThighRoll" constraints respond best when compensate is turned off.

Hi - I'm following this David Rogers tut: http://am-guide.com/SetUp/ to rig the legs of a "paper" man model I'm working on and I finally got everything constrained properly only to witness a new anamoly with the step "tarsal bone add kinematic chain to Toe Target". The right side constrains fine, but when adding this constraint to the left side I get strange toe displacement. I checked and rechecked my steps more times than I can mention. I've uploaded a project file with only this constraint in the relationship (pose) as thru trial & error I realized this problem happens whether I complete the constraint process or just isolate the toe constraints. My immediate reaction is to weight the inner spline almost fully to the 'pelvis' and to weight the other cps in varying degrees outward toward the legs, but if there were a good tut to see how a model is succesfully done it would help. David - the link you provide in your post for a good IK leg rig doesn't load.
