  1. Hi Everyone,

I might as well get right to the point, I'm making a mini film and I'm creating a bouquet for the film. I have my own flower from this exercise, but instead of just copying it or modify it (I certainly could, but I think this would be cooler) I thought it would be fun if some of these unique flowers were in the film. I'd really appreciated if anyone donated (via PM, or email) their flower towards the bouquet, I'll make sure to put you in the credits. ;) And if It's OK with the donors I'll post the finished bouquet here for the Hash community.

    Thank you,

    Josh

  2. Precisely Dhar! :)

    Ok forks,

Here's complaint/rant #1. I'm trying to have this film require no modeling from me, I cant model for beans. But I do have to model one thing as it turns out, a tutu for 'Mr' Chameleon. I feel kinda embarrassed, I have no idea where to start, do I 'lathe' or just start putting splines down? How can I get started on this? I've done the flower in TAoAM, but I'm completely stumped here---some help please! :(

    Just a simple tutu---

P.S. Sorry Arkaos I have no idea what's going on in your thread---I wish I could help---

  3. Hello everybody,

This will be my official complaining, excuse-making, whining, and technical support thread for a mini film I'm working on for---who woul'da thunk it---the mini film contest!

Nothing to comment or critique now---I might post some storyboards soon though---this is just a public announcement, a placeholder, so I can get my butt off the chair (well, on the chair) and get working on it! :D

    Working Title: 'The Date'

Synopsis: Thom arrives at his prom date's door with flowers ready to whisk her off into the night, but where is she?

    Style: Old Fashioned 'Chaplinesque'

    Length: 50 seconds to 1:35

    Status: storyboarding.

So yes, please just ignore this thread for now---

  4. Is this really pirating?

No, it's a copyright violation. Both are illegal under current U.S. law, but one is not equivalent to the other.

I just want to use this audio (the Theme Song for Curb Your Enthusiasm) for my own little film, nothing else---are the police going to bust down my doors?

Well, that depends on what you're planning to do with your little film, doesn't it?

    Thanks Mike,

I'm going to post my little film in the forums, submit it to the mini film contest, and if I think it's any good maybe A:M films.

They might not bust down my doors, but that doesn't do anything for the tremendous amount of guilt I would feel---:(

Yay or Nay? I'm leaning towards Nay

  5. Hey guys,

Since we're on the issue of legality here I've got a question or two.

(Maybe I should have asked this before I storyboarded the whole thing---)

I have this audio clip here that I'm planning on using for my 'mini film':

    http://www.sitcomsonline.com/sounds/curbyourenthusiasm.mp3 :)

Ok, so if I understand this correctly if this was something I paid for, say on a CD, I could use it, as long as it was for my personal use (no film festivals, paychecks, etc.) and I gave the necessary credit.

Now on the audio clip above, I don't really own it, I don't know how this site got it, but I know it's not 'for sale' anywhere, but that's a stupid excuse.

Is this really pirating? I just want to use this audio (the Theme Song for Curb Your Enthusiasm) for my own little film, nothing else---are the police going to bust down my doors?

    Thanks,

    -Josh

  6. I though this shiny new forum would be a good place to post this---

Can anyone give me an estimate of when full-on production of animation for TWO will start? I know the AD's are getting started but what about everyone else?

I'm asking this not only so I can procrastinate to the last possible moment, but I also need to know this so I can re-work the upcoming months accordingly so I will be able to give my 100%. (or at-least my 99.999997%) It's all about me dammit! ;)

    I Thank ya! :)

  7. Thank you Stuart and David for answering my question about AD's and lead animators.

EDIT: I would love to do some editing if it does not interfere with me animating too, so maybe just post-production editing? Is iMovie HD enough for this task? I've been using iMovie for three years now, I know how to work around its simplistic limitations. I also have Final Cut Express, the "low-end" Final Cut Pro, sitting in my computer. This would probably be better since it can handle large files easily, and of course it has a bunch more features then iMovie (It's pretty much the Mac equivalent of Adobe Premiere). The only problem now is for me to learn it! So, did I get the job? ;) What is everyone's thought on the software I should use if I choose to edit TWO?

EDIT: I just read David's first post again, it looks like Final Cut Express is the way to go---will I need the HD version?

    Thanks

    Josh :)

  8. Here are three books I'm planning on getting/loaning related to 'acting' since I'm hoping to do some real performances in TWO. I thought I would post them here so you can consider them also---

Manwatching By Desmond Morris. This looks like a great book on body language and gestures: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...921847?v=glance

Acting for Animators by Ed Hooks. The title says it all! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/032500580...glance&n=283155

and Stop Staring:Facial Modeling and Animation Done Right by Jason Osipa. The F.A.C.E rig is based on the one in this book.

  9. I had a dream a while back that SIGGRAPH was coming to Boston. And it came true! :D

Sorry James, maybe next year. ;) I hear you guys have it pretty nice in Hawaii anyway. ;)

Great idea about having a Demo Ken, it would be much more effective then just showing stills of TWO.
