  1. Rodney, you're going to have to get a bigger hat to pick out of!

Well, it least the odds arn't as bad as the state lottery---This contest is going to make me get off my butt (on my butt rather) and finish TAoAM once and for all!

(yes, I already submitted, just commenting)

  2. Wait, so I'm absolutely, positively, 100% sure Im not even going to touch the modeling module in Animation Master for the project. Do I have to do TAoAM with Rodney and friends if I'm only doing animation? I've been using Animation Master for about 10 Months now, I know the program well enough to create character animations---

Its nice to know about modeling when you animate so that you can know why the mesh, rig, and poses work the way they do when you animate them. And so that you can suggest mesh, rig and pose changes intelligently to the Modelers/Tech people to help you animate better.

Yes, It would be nice! But, I have a very limited amount of time to finish the bootcamps. I'm aiming to finish/complete by Mid-Jan. If I don't have to do the TAoAM (I've done nearly all of the exercises, except the complex models, it just would make my life a little bit easier) I can focus more of my effort towards creating animation and advancing my skills for the TWO project. If I have time I would be more then glad to go back and learn more about model construction.

    Thanks for the reply Noel-

  3. There are the two bootcamps....of which the modeling one is completing the manual. I assume you've done that. I think you're pretty much qualified to get stuck in. Pick out something from the lists of things in the other threads and start making. Post a picture of it and you'll be directed.

  4. Fantastic AniMattor! I really love your style (I love the rabbit you did too)! The caricature is perfect, all I can say is that I can't wait to see that udder jiggle :P (soft body dynamics?)

  5. So now we are loaded with turkeys.

Well duh, Thanksgiving was last week!

Ok, horrible joke. Great job you two, the design is a great caricature of a turkey Bob. It's like a genetically modified turkey/ostrich

If we don't end up using both we should discreetly put one in the movie as an in joke.

  6. I though we could but together a little list for everyone here of recommended animation books. Perhaps this could be a pinned topic. Go ahead and suggest a book that either inspires you and/or has helped you learn animation.

I'll start with the two essentials.

Johnston, Ollie. Thomas, Frank. "The Illusion of Life: Disney Animation" Revised edition (October 19, 1995)

The ultimate animation book, filled with Disney related history. There are great tips on how to bring life into your character. You must have this if you like animation. I would say that's all of you!

Williams, Richard. "The Animator's Survival Kit: A Manual of Methods, Principles, and Formulas for Classical, Computer, Games, Stop Motion, and Internet Animators" January 7, 2002

One of my all time favorite books. I would say it's the best how-to.

    OTHER:

Maltin, Leonard. "Of Mice and Magic: A History of American Animated Cartoons" May, 1990

Maltin covers nearly a century of american animation art in detail.

Gilbert, Wayne. "Simplified Drawing for Planing Animation" This book is about Simplified Drawing for Planing Animation ;)

  7. Awesome work David. Once I get into bipeds in ABC this guy's my man. Thank you so much for your tireless efforts in creating an amazing rig for the community. Really wonderful rig. I'm sure you learned a lot during the process, huh?
