Hey Mark!
Thom looks good in red marble.
I've been using quicktime sorenson 3 good quality, no keyframes and 24 frames per second which brings in the following four second animation at only 565kb.
Try it, you won't need your webspace as often.
Here's ex 15. The slight glitch after about a second didn't show in realtime, maybe a render problem??

You're doing well for only four month's experience.
I've had A:M since September and I don't expect to be turning out work like yours within the next couple of months.
Great start, well done!
-
Taking shape nicely Phil.
Look forward to your continuing progress.

CRITIQUES PLEASE...EVEN IF CRUEL
Okay you asked for it.......
Only joking!
Looks convincing to me you've got the movement right. You could maybe play about with the colour, but that depends on the effect you want for your animation.
Great work.

Looks like you hit on a good solution mike.
Sadly not, didn't work.
luckbat found that I'd deleted an elbow and a smartskin was refering to it.
Oddly enough this had no effect on his Mac, only my pc. He deleted ref to elbow but that didn't cure my problem.
I've redone it from scratch. Doesn't take nearly as long on the second attempt.
I found that repeating the exercise has helped me understand it better as I was thinking more rather than blindly following the tutorial.
Anyway here's my Exercise 13 rendered in shaded mode.

I sure hope it does!
Get this......
When I go to action window my boneless thom loses an arm. I thought of a workaround by deleting the model in modeling mode leaving me with a correctly scaled skeleton. I then import a fresh boneless thom which lines up nicely with the existing skeleton.
I reassigned points in skeleton mode and resaved the model.
I went into action mode and...arm disappears again.
My brain hurts!

Nice work Mark!
Hypnomike falls further behind.
Did you use smartskin? The book says to use it but the video says it will be covered in a further exercise.
I tried and wish I hadn't
I've posted a problem I have with this ex on http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9735 at this moment in time problem unsolved if anyone would like to visit the thread.
If I don't get it solved by tommorow I start again.
It would be nice to know what went wrong though as this exercise has left me totaly confused about smartskin.
Until then I'll kill time with the next exercise!
Bye for now.

Awesome work Xtaz!

That's really come along since my last visit.
Is the inside of the building modeled as a seperate set, or do you model inside the original building, maybe removing some of it to allow for the camera?

Nice pirate, I can almost smell the rum!

Hi Yves!
I'm a beginner so alot of the info in this thread goes over my head (for now) but I'd like to say you've done a great job in the middle picture particularly.
Superb lighting.
Best Wishes
Mike

Coming along nicely.
The new lighting gives the place a more sinister feel, looks better than the first picture.

Hi Simon!
I've just visited your sight and echo the comments about the text cell being too long.
When I clicked on SHORT TRAILER 2 I was sent back to the splash page, you may want to check it out.
Nice site though, good luck with your project.
Best Wishes
Mike

Hey Mark!
Who is Paul? do you mean me? do I need to do a better presentation?Play it safe Mark, do nothing for now.......until I've retaken the lead!
BTW I'm sure he meant you.

You can also visit http://www.hash.com/htmlHelp/ and download the file yourself.
I can recommend Will Sutton's printed version, I thumb through it as I learn and pick up info when I'm in a position to understand it.
It's my first port of call when a fellow Hasher posts a problem.

Dang Mark, you're over three hours ahead of me!
Nice job, we'll have to give Eddie a set of teeth sometime.
I've seen a set on the forum, I think it's jamagica's, if your reading this jamagica why not fit poor Eddie with a set of your teeth??
I did a (very) short animation, lets just call it "Say Ah Eddie."
Bye for now folks....

Terrific model, easily recognisable.

WOW! Well done Zach!
Great choice with the gang of three stopping the escape!

Hi there Daniel!
You're making real progress here, it's been fun watching your work come to life.
Keep posting.
-
Great work there Flog!
I'm really looking forward to your updates, keep it up!
-
Thanks guys you've got me working again!
Once A:M recognised the project I then had to point it to the models and decals, once I'd done that it loaded straight away.
Thanks to a faster machine I can now watch my "door's stuck" in realtime with a tenfold increase in frame rate!
Well they say that every cloud has a silver lining and this upgrade (forced when my 450mhz gave up the ghost) certainly proved it for me.
Thanks again.

Nice job on the legs Mark.

The webbed hands and feet are animated exeptionaly well, very effective.
