Here is a shoe that I made. It is about as simple as I could make it with a resonable amount of detail. I use a fair few hooks and 5point patches.

I agree with what has been said so far. For such a large creature the movement should be much slower and have more weight to it. I would also like to see more movement on the head and body as he is looking a little stiff at the moment. Modeling and texturing are great though.
