  1. ...Barack HATES the Clintons which is the main reason he wouldn't even consider Hilary for the VP spot anyway....

Yep, he HATES a lot of things, won't vote for such a hate-fueled person...

    [edit]

Clarification : After reading his speeches, and his books, I notice a constant theme of baseless anger keeps resurfacing. (It is very easy to get drawn into the "style" of a skilled orator, which he is, and forget the meaning behind his words, so i read his speeches.)

That is where my claim that he is "hate-fueled" comes from. It is not "made up", it is my observations from his own words.

  2. What a timely topic! I was just exploring IBL myself for some lighting on The Mountain...

...I also found myself playing with painted low-res maps for dramatic effects.

Neat feature, makes things a bit less "computer-y" and uniform.

I am not sure why this:

if you use a jpeg, you won't have strong lighting spots

So IBL is going off more than RGB? .hdr has a brightness setting too?

Easy answer: hdr/exr/ etc... all are designed to store values "whiter than white". So essentially strong lighting spots can be derived from "bright white" areas of the image.

I believe you can paint this with the latest photoshop.

  3. Nobody mentioned A:M's built-in feature for replacing objects in the choreography...

Right-click on the Object in the PWS Object Folder...and click "Change Shortcuts To..." Then you will be presented with a list of other objects in the scene..

Choose the replacement object, and all shortcuts will now point the new object.

    Easy.

  4. I always work from drawings. This is a workflow that meets with varied success. I think for our next film, I'll be buying up some clay for pre-viz work. Drawing makes it a bit more trial-and-error, you must have a very good idea in your brain-meats of what things are.

  5. ...w minutes.[/b] I work with two instances of A:M. This is how I work lately as my models increase in complexity so I can continue on working on another model/action/cho when one of them is doing the finding patches routine(it takes more than 5 minutes) ...

If your models are this complex, you really ought to break them into pieces and recombine them in the chor... I'm very curious to see such complex work, however! (I'm guessing you are doing architectural/mechanical work, organic shapes usually don't require anything near that kind of density.)

  6. Ok thank's i will try that.

The only problem would be that when i come to edit the final image i will have to ender everything as spline. am i right?

All objects set to "Render As Lines" will do just that - render as lines. (Great for representation of thin geometry, that would otherwise alias horribly by other render methods or be just annoying to work.)

  7. So the question is: Does anyone know if this feature still exists and if so, how to access it? Alternatively if you were tasked to animate a werewolf transformation, how would you go about it?

    Pixmite

It is available...in the context menu (Rt Click | Cmd Click) for the bone.

However, it moves into a submenu, instead of just saying "New SmartSkin"

  8. * smooth shading is shading the model from flat triangles shading to smoother.

You are probably modeling in shaded mode, and you need PgUp or PgDn on the keyboard, which will alter the apparent smoothness of realtime shaded mode.

There are no triangles in Animation:Master, the only time your patches (which are what surfaces are called in Animation:Master) will look like they are made of triangles is in the realtime shaded mode (your videocard demands polys), final render and everything else is all curves.

  9. Greetings,

I wonder if anyone has come across the error message, "Failed to launch help", when pressing "help topics" in the top menu bar? Any suggestions as to what is causing this?

    I'm using 14.0c.

    Many thanks you your help.

    Andrew

Make sure the help file is in the application directory. You may have d/l a copy from ftp.hash.com

  10. (Just make sure there is an evil American industrialist in your story and then you'll have a hit. Kidding!!!)

No no... it would be way more hysterically funny stereotypically wise if there was an fascist nazi descendant rascist intolerant insensitive german pig caricature in the story - left over from the really fun days of european colonization, invasion and WWII.

Now that would really be funny.

"Whee! I'll get the kids and we'll have us a family movie night!"

  11. ... i guess it really makes a difference if you ask younger or older people. you got me thinking... and thanks, i´m really glad you like my characters. :)

I think the main thing is don't make the story revolve around a string of racially offensive jokes.

Does that mean you can't have Africans in your story about Africa? Of course not!

Many people today are WAAAAAAYYYY over-sensitive about race, in general.

Were black americans wronged in the past? Heck yeah! Can we ever "fix" that? Nope, just move on.

I refuse to feel guilty over something I personally had nothing to do with.

But what do I know, I'm American, white, and male. That's three strikes against me right there!

Thank goodness I'm technically living in poverty, or I'd get no respect.

    (http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.wordpress.com/ provides a counter-stereotype)

By the way, your modeling is wonderful - now make a good story, too!

(Just make sure there is an evil American industrialist in your story and then you'll have a hit. Kidding!!!)

  12. hi,

i have a model that is made out of a plane. now i want to decal/shade one side of the plane with different color as the other side.

i know, that in 3ds max there is a material called "two sided" to achive that. is there something similar in animation master?

    Short answer : No.

If you want two sides, use a double-plane or an extremely squished cube.

  13. I'm not a "dog person". :D

    Cats are much more intriguing.

Gee whiz, you'd think you have never lived in a next-door apartment to a continuously barking dog...

    ..surely someone can sympathize...Nancy? Anyone?

Surely I'm not the most twisted person on here.

    :P

Hysterically funny. Are you an old person? Only old people are that twisted...

And stay away from my cat. He has no sense of humor.

This is the best review any of my work I've ever received! Although, truthfully, I am only an old person at heart.

P.S. Your cat has no nose. Do you know how he smells?

    I couldn't resist.

So glad the great Ms. G. is a fan!

    School is good for something.

  14. :blink::blink::blink: *slowly moves away* :blink::blink::blink:

  15. In an action window, when I use the copy keyframe and then paste a keyframe, the bones are copied onto the selected keyframe but the nulls are not. This also applies for the paste mirrored option. Does anyone know if i'm doing something wrong? Thanks for your time.

    Sincerely,

    Masna

Is your keframe filter set to key Model, or bones, or just the branch?

(little buttons down by the keyframe buttons)

  16. kind of a cliche reference but check out this vid:

    ...

Thanks, that helps a ton! I didn't even think of looking up reference vid on youtube

for now I'm boarding out my next few sequences, there is probably going to be only one more CG dog shot, but interacting with my actor...

Or maybe a bit more - I'll know for sure after filming is wrapped this sunday, then I'll have some time to edit/fine-tune
