Here's the rough blocking for this scene. I'm not sure what the others should be doing, just sort of watching and reacting a little bit? Comments suggestions?
Thanks,
-Ethan

That's kinda pretty matt!

lol... somehow it seems like it's missing one more block on the top to make it a cross. Tis Cool lookin.

Looking nice greg! I like the emotions you have playing on his face. One thought about the eye movement, I know he is apprehensive, maybe sad too, but there are a few times the eyes move when it seems undirected because it's not quite quick enough I think, and the eyes don't have a hold in a place or two when I think it might help to "solidify" the performace a bit. I think I know what your going for, but this is just a thought which might help feel more purposeful. Just a thought. I'm not saying all the eyes movements in the shot should be fast, just at some points.
Nice work!

Heather, nice sort of scared facial expression. Is that the whole shot? Cuz it's pretty short to really get an idea of what's happening, but it looks like he might jerk down a bit too quickly.
Good job on your first animating!

Nice motions there Just a quick thought about perphaps placing his left hand on his hip sooner? Possibly on "Business". I like the idea of not just trying to animate it "with" the other arm. But it feels a tad stiffly there..
Nice work can't wait to see this scene progressing!

ah great!!.. it worked when I put what the file was in the message field. Thanks david!

This is really neat news...! Though 3D world seems to vanished at Borders periodicals, along with nearly all 3D related books... curious how the market changes...

ah wait! I found a copy I have that IS my version!!! whew! what a relief!! I made a copy of the file! I'm not going to touch anything. I don't think file version systems like me.
Sorry I kind of freaked out there, I'm not entirely sure what took place, but I ended up with an old version of my Chor and my new one. If I try to commit the new MOV file currently I get:
Commit Failed (details follow)
MERGE request failed '/movie/svn/active/data/Act2/Seq07_KuKlip/Sc051/Movie'
'pre-commit' hook failed with error output
I can only imagine Martin rolling his eyes and saying "lord help us" when he realizes poeple like me are working on this project...

(edited as I figured out I didn't really lose the file I thought i'd over written it with the original SVN files, see below)

ah that's looking really good Michel, I like the natural feeling pull back and shaking. The phenomes could be a little mushy for the definite hits in his dialogue but thats kind of a detail. Just a small thought.

Good start Daniel This stuff is really fun isn't it! I see you've got some good basic movement in there. Here are couple thoughts. Eyes should always lead the head except in special circumstances. Try it yourself, we look and then our head usually follows to match the direction. Also, have you tried constraining the bottle of glue to the hand? It looks like you are trying to animate it manually to match the hand movement, which is very hard to do!

David,
This doesn't look like the easiest scene to work as there is alot going on there. The motion is nice and fluid. Couple thoughts.
1. Is the initial swipe by the tinman a like "oh please" wave? If it is you might consider accenting it with Tinman rolling his eyes whilst looking more toward the camera. Unless i'm misunderstanding that action.
2. I think it's already been suggested but have you tried tightening Scarecrows movements even more? They feel correct, but on the edge of being too slow during his travel time in the air.
3. If your final thrust away motion by tinman his torso was rotated more toward scarecrow, with a faster, farther out spread of his arms almost like an umpire "he's out" a little bit with his head shaking it could read more.
Just some thoughts, you can put um in the round filing cabinet if you like Nice secondary on Scarcrows arms.

Martin, great! Glad to hear i'm on the right track. Got another itteration out here.
Nancy your right the camera slide is um.. a boo boo, I'll have to correct it in the next pass.
David, thanks! No I hadn't read the script wiki, I will check the script from now on for shots.
I noticed that on the WIP mov version of the dialogue for this shot he laughs but in the dialogue in my chor he doesn't. So I'm hoping the dialogue in the chor is the most recent? That's what I animated too. Do I need to add his laughing?
Next version: I worked on some facial expressions, and refined the movement a bit. The way you can move the fingers in this rig is totally awesome!! The phenomes are going to take a bit of getting used to though. I find it a little bit disturbing not to have a jaw bone I can just play with to force the mouth all the way closed or open it, seems like that usually helps to give the mouth more punch as alot of 3D dialogue the mouthes don't close all the way and it feels cottonmouthy.

Yay! My first animation WIP post for TWO! Did I mention I love this??? Here is the first rough pass, no facial. I don't even technically know if he is where he is supposed to be, or if that action is remotely close to what the director wants, so I didn't want give it another pass till I find out if his action and vioce is really doing what it's supposed to be. Crits and Comments and guidance welcome of course.

I have followed the steps on the SVN walkthrough page.
http://wiki.hash.com/two/published/SvnWalkthrough
It seems to work as described untill I get to step 6
"6. Then it will bring up a dialog asking you for your forum sign in name and password. Instead email willp@hash.com and give him your forum user name and a Svn Password you want to use for svn. (We haven’t had time to tie it to the forum login yet)"
I DO have an SVN password. But it does not ask for one at this stage. And then step 7 doesn't occur.
"7. Then it will bring up a dialog asking you where to ”check out” from. Press ok to download the data to the folder you specified. (Don’t change any info here unless you know what you are doing)."
It just goes back to the TWO Movie Page in the community. with
with a directory path and a line that says "Command sent to SVN client"
If I then go to my local directory for the TWO project I can see the new directory structure, but no files in any of the folders.
Sorry to bug you guys with this, i'm certain after I get set up totally I won't be an annoyance!

Thanks guys, I did indeed get one! Now I'm trying to figure out how to download the correct files via SVN, so far i'm getting the folder structure down but no actual files.

Hello Everyone!
I've set up everything as far as I know i'm how to start working on animating some shots, which means I downloaded SVN, got dotproject access, but I havn't received any emails, how can I find out if I have any assignments? If I log into Dotproject and click Tasks and then "my tasks" it just gives me a "page cannot be displayed message".
Thanks for any assistance, i'm somewhat anxious to get started
