  1. Robert Thank you very much. That makes life simpler. Regards simon
  2. This has happened before but I worked around it. If possible, I'd like to avoid it happening again. I animated my flour dancing. When it came to editing it to avoid mesh penetration, found that, in the choreography, there were two sets of keyframes to adjust. Can someone kindly point out the problem and how to avoid it in future? Thank you. simon
  3. Bought some perforated steel plates to use with stop frame work, noticed the moire effects when one moved over the other and thought,"Ill photo that". It was too cold to venture out doors ( by UK standards anyway ), so decided to try something similar in AM using cookie cutter decals.Managed to make about 35 over two days. Here are a few of them. Apologies for large file sizes. Grid One was the first one, Two grids, one using circular hole, the other square holes. There was about 10 of those in different settings. Then added colour and different grids.Grid Fourteen and G27 give an indication of those. Then, last night, thought to try cookie cutters combined with image decal. and Chicken was the result of that. No idea where it will go now, but it was fun to do. simon Grid_One__720.mov Grid_Fourteen_.mov G27.mov Chicken_V18.mov
  4. Robert I tried your preset, it worked, thank you very much indeed. I've been having a lot of niggly troubles with OSX over the past 6 months or so. It keeps dropping the default settings, losing pathways and authorisations. For example, while rendering the line options, each time i open V18, it asks me who I am and what organisation and won't allow me to procede without entering the data. This despite having done so without problem for the past 6 months or more. Frustrating is not the word for it. regards simon
  5. Robert Pardon me I was a bit tired and on the way to bed when I replied. Will try that preset today. I did want the alpha because I was hoping to try the lines only to use as a stencil with the fill ( paint bucket) tool in TVpaint. By way of a small experiment regards simon
  6. Robert Thank you very much for your reply and help. Much appreciated. I do have alpha turned on, and its rendering to PNG's. Have tried TGA and Photoshop formats all with the same result.. Just trying an overnight render in V17. It is that scene I'm using but, all the models except the ingredients have been deactivated, so there are only the three models in the scene. When tested with a quick render in the chor, the lines show up but, not when rendered to file. Will hae another look in the morning. Regards simon
  7. I'm trying a test on the mix files while waiting on something else. Working in V18 under OSX 10.11.6 Have set up the models to use 50% of underlying colour, they render as a quick render in a model window but, when I try to render them out in a chor, just the alpha channel is there, no lines. Is there a setting I might be missing? Thank you simon
  8. Robert, Dan Thanks for your replies and feedback, much appreciated. I've attached a few screen shots to show the setup for this sequence. As you can see the camera is the only thing between the light and the objects and there are no keyframes set at that point, The animation in this sequence is all done with one action file. Its a bit of a mystery as to what the cause is.The really annoying thing is that the 'fault' is intermittent. Sometimes it happens, other times not. For now, I've decided to live with it and get on with the drawing part or I'll just end up chasing myself around, rather than get on with it. Thank you for your help. regards simon
  9. 720 version of UHD original. Any critical feedback very welcome indeed. This is the hand drawn version of the intro scene. QT seems to make the mov file a lot lighter than the original. There a sudden flicker about halfway through, caused by the render inserting a shadow which shouldn't be there. I don't know why it happened (?) it seems to happen at random. It doesn't happen at HD1080 but did at UHD. It happened particularly when using AO, so I stopped using that, this has no AO and it only happened on one frame. A bit of a puzzle? simon TVP Mix 000.mov
  10. Robert I tried a different camera anggle on the setting as you suggested. Is this the sort of thing you meant ? regards simon Scene 6B.mov
  11. Thank You Dan. The daunting bit comes now with the drawn parts. It might take some time. regards simon
  12. Robert Thanks for the critique. I shall try a different camera angle later. In the meantime, this is the full animation , with the titles and credits to be added after the drawing. regards simon Non AO Mix.mov
  13. Second draft of final scene from "All in the Mix" The ingredients get to the mixing bowl. Any critical feedback very welcome Mix Scene Six.mov
  14. First pass at the final scene. Must admit to finding it awkward. I haven't put the ingredients in yet, preferring to get the movements done first. Any critical feedback very gratefully received. simon Mix Scene Six.mov
  15. Robert, Rodney Thank you for your help and suggestions, I shall try them out this afternoon. regards simon
  16. This may sound strange, my apologies if it does but, does anyone have any advice on how to animate a figure on the diagonal? By which I mean, If the direction of travel is perpendicular and in straight lines then it is very straightforward ( pardon the pun ), I have two figures already done but, the third is coming in at an angle to the target and I am having trouble getting the movement working because its not perpendicular to the view angle. I'm sure I've done this before but, the afternoon tea has not dispelled the clouds.. Any advice gratefully received. simon
  17. Jake. Thank you for the post. I know nothing at all about Sketchfab, do you have a link were I can find out more about it please ? I looked via Google but, came up with a page from "Oath' which wanted permission to access my computer, so I moved away at that point. regards simon
  18. Robert Thanks for message and suggestion. . I'll have to ponder that a bit, My first thoughts would be, not as much as earlier anticipated, but some change would help. I was thinking yesterday that it might be time to get acquainted with particles, as the Blue and Orange sacks are supposed to be Flour and Sugar. The Butter might need to be a bit stronger in form ? Theres only about two seconds when there needs to be something in the mixing bowl so, time for some more pondering on my part. regards simon
  19. Steve Thank you for your feedback. Much appreciated. I think the problem arose because I animated the model bone to get it to end up in a position that wouldn't obscure the Butter in the background. It was originally done so that it covered the ground to scale ( or nearly ), but when it stood up at the end, it blocked the view. Taking the easy ( but erroneous) way out, I animated the model bone to get a position change but keep the movement, Clearly I overdid it. My mistake. I will try to correct it later. Regards simon
  20. Robert Thank you for you feedback. as much appreciated as ever. I shall try to slow it down a bit more. Hoping to get tje animation done by the end of this week. regards simon
  21. I'm animating the last four seconds of the cake ingredients. The present intention is for them to jump up and bump into each other over the mixing bowl, then drop back down after emptying some of their contents into the bowl. I hope to hand draw the contents coming out into the bowl but unsure how to empty the bags? Initial thoughts are to use muscle mode to reduce the mass of the model so it gets smaller as the stuff comes out. Would it be better to build a system of pose sliders to do that, or perhaps to do it on the fly, as they collide and return to the worktop ? any hints gratefufully received. thamk you simon
  22. Revised animation in the light of feedback from Robert and Steve. I tried to have a small pause in the first cartwheel but have added some weight ( at least thats the hope ) wen the blue sack lands afterwards, with a bit of overlapping flaps. Wonder if the jump that follows is too quick ? Any critical feedback greatly appreciated. simon Mix Scene Five.mov
  23. Reworked the animation in the light of Robert and Steve's feedback. Will try to post it later when rendered. In the meantime, This is a possibility for the opening Titles Any feedback very welcome. simon Mix Titles.mov
  24. Robert, Steve Thanks for the feedback. Much appreciated. I hadn't spotted the timing on the cartwheel so went ahead and rendered it out, I will need to redo that part again. Had a real curious glitch when one frame,1200, just would not render without crashing. It was using 5 passes and crashed everytime, about 7 attempts. So, I cut the passes down to 3 and it worked, with no crash Regards simon
  25. First pass at Scene Five, need to adjust curves and poses. Any feedback greatly appreciated, thank you. simon Ps Four seconds to go, when they all jump in the mixing bowl Mix Scene Five.mov
