  1. Cloth is very rarely use with A:M and think about what u are asking for...

The animations here, are small or middel big projects and many are just done by one or zwo persons...

Do you know how many guys worked ONLY for Hair, Cloth and Effects on Shrek/ Shrek2?

A quite good example for Cloth with A:M is the dog with its jacket from Anzovin...

Dont know if it is still out there anywhere?

The dog (ralf???) and a cat dancing and then, manipulating the cat? (Dont know if it is a nightmare of the dog or something...)

  2. I have a Acer Aspire 1501 LMi (which has a Athlon 64 dtr 3000+, 512 MB RAM, DVD-Writer (both formats), 60GB, Ati Radeon 9600 64 MB)

(This system costs now about 1.300 Euro (dont know how much it costs in America)

I dont have any problems with A:M...

  3. There are some more questions about the processor...

Do you need an Centrino I / II or is it not very important how long the battery will last? If so, I would look for a Athlon 64 dtr prozzy (will be little bit more expensive but is quite powerful) if you need long batterytimes, you will need to buy a Centrino, Centrino II or an Athlon 64 mobile(they are quite fast and has more or less the same batterytimes like an Centrino I...

PS: Centrino is a fine thing, 1,6Ghz Centrino is aproximatly as powerful as an P4 2,4 Ghz dtr(desktop) version, but will be much more expensive...

  4. You could think about a barebone-System...

that is a very small PC, which is quiet portable because of the size but as powerful as an normal PC... only problem: You cant really upgrade that system...

  5. You could use the trial-version of camtasiastudio... with that programm u can capture the screen and than you can compose this video with images... you create a picture with some orders to be done by the "student" and compose it into the video...

  6. ...okay boys... when will we archieve world peace? *gg*

I was wondering if it would be possible to count the A:M-Users all over the world?

Would be very interesting to know how many there are...

Dont know how, so... it would be possible to count the ips which download the updates or so....

    *Fuchur*

PS: I dont know which number i have, but i am here since 19. September 03...

  7. I think it becomes popular in Europe...

In Austria are some commercials from the soulcage-department at TV and in Germany is the animagoaward (biggest 2d/3d-Award in the german-speaking countries) where they won I think 3 years in the row a prize....(2 x First place, one second place or something like that...)

    Animago Award

    Entry 1

    Entry 2

  8. I made a little tut, but i have a question:

Where can i upload it or to which mailaddress should I send it?

I cant find anything on your webside about that...

So (because I just can send 5 MB with my mail-account) I

uploaded the file to my HP(I can upload till 8MB, so...) it is a quicktime-file(my cam-software doesnt allow

shockwave format...) and you can find it under

    Eye-Tut

It is not really good(quality is quite bad) and in fact I do my eyes in another way... but I hope it is a start for your site...

I like the idea... but if u like to have more success, you have to offer something to win and make it like a competition... maybe you can ask someone to sponsor you... with little prizes for the winners... why dont you ask the hash-team if it would be possible to sponsor you with, I dont know, a Hash T-Shirt or something...

Or the "pencil which was used to scribbel the first A:M movie or something like that...

  9. Hi guys, got a little question:

Is it possible to control a particle-emitter by a pose?

I'd like to let some robots walk through a desert/dry landscape and with every footstepp, some dust should go up.

It is quite much work to animate that in any other way(I could attach emitters to the feet and then activate and deactivate them when needed, but i have 5 robots which walk for quiet a while. They've got all the same walkcycle-action and it would be great, if I just could apply this effect to the walkcycle-action by using a pose...

Is this possible? Could someone tell me how or where I find a good tutorial for something like that?

    Thanks in advance

    *Fuchur*

PS: Sorry for that topic... didnt realize that... could an admin please fix this, please?

    Would be nice!

  10. Hm... 9.5 is not the best version you could be using...

think about an CD-Update to 10.5/11...

would be better... but just a thought... A:M 9/9.5 is 'a bit' buggy...

    *Fuchur*

  11. First... please dont talk in the forum about such problems... you can send a mail to

    support@hash.com

    for any help for bugs...

But that doesnt help u yet, so I ask some questions... are you still in the modelling window when you translate the CPs? Did you animate the modell before you translated the cps?

  12. U could use wings3d to look if it is properly closed.

If not, go back to A:M and try it again...

Or just reload it to A:M... should do the same...

    *Fuchur*

PS: i Think that means: the throught of the balrog have to be closed...

But what is with the eyes? What if they dont lay 100% at the eyelid?

  13. Hi A:M-Users...

  14. I think ur mistake is in the Actionfile...

I think u let the character walk one step in the actionfile and u dont just move the legs but u move the whole character forward...

U should only move the legs in the action file as if u r walking but u dont get forward.

Also u should look at the bone-hierachy(in the PWS) and look if all the bones r connected (in a chain or whatever) with the mainbone.

    Bone1

    -> bone 2

    -> bone 3

The bone1 is the mainbone... bone 2 is a child of bone 1 and bone3 is child of bone 2...

So all bones r somehow connected to the mainbone.

Bone 1 is in general the modelbone, which is created by defaulted (u can see it, when u click in the Bonemode anywhere where no bones r.

    Hope that helps u.

    *Fuchur*

  15. U can do that with A:M, but u should not. The Soundquality is often not very good, the movies gets damn large and and and...

Best way to do that is by using Sound Forge, MusicMaker or maybe premiere...

Maybe there is another free tool out there...
