I got a similar problem with my project...
The frames wont render anymore...
What you can do, but it didnt help for me is to look for reflectivity-object and slightly change their settings.
My problem seems to be with the patches of the ground what is very strange cause the frames before are exactly the same... (with the exception of one leaf which moves a bit... but it doesnt stopp at rendering the leaf....)

PS: I wrote a report and they said, they would look it up later... so wait a little bit...

Veryvery nice review... i ran into our magazine-shop everyday and today I got it(it last a bit to get the 3dworld in Germany) and read it and it is really a nice review...!
And every word is true!
WELL done!

Select your object in Photoshop, go to Selection->Save Selection, give it a name.
A new Alpha-Channel should be created...

I think much money was spent to develope the new facial-animation-mocap-technology they use in this film...

I think, in the end both systems are not a wonderweapon against everything...
If you like to work with A:M, I think a PC will be a bit better than a Mac...
I dont know if it is just a fairytale or something, but I heard from some users, that the Mac-Version of A:M is not as stabil as the PC-Version and, what I think is much more important: Mac-Users cant use Hair, etc-Features, right?
I am not sure about both things above, but if that is true, I would get a PC...
Macs are nice, but they are not as common as PCs and if you like to deal with customers, most of them will own a PC.
Otherwise: Macs can in general read PC-Data quite well...
I am a PC-user, who was very upset with the Macs at my university, cause i couldnt handle them... I more and more come to the clue, that PC and MACs are both nice systems, in there fields and: dont believe that you dont have to push crl+alt+del on a Mac... (actual you dont have to, cause the "Task-Manager"-Thingy on a Mac is Alt+Apple+F1 or something like that *grin*) I worked on a Mac for 15 Minutes and it crashed... (I dont talk about A:M but the OS)

Welcome to the Community!
Nice to have you with us.
Hm... did you look at the normals? maybe something is wrong with them?
(go to options, modeling, select "show normals" and look, if they are all in one direction or not... best if they are directed to the outside.
Bye

Did you re-start A:M or reload Porcelain after you fliped the normals?

If you look at your material you will find a entry named "Realtime" where you can adjust the density in Realtime-mode(doesnt effect the final output)...
If you adjust the final-density after you adjusted the realtime-preview, it could be better...
You although should think about ambience-color on the hair... that can make the hair much smoother...
Maybe you meant that? If not, sorry for telling you things you already know or dont wanted to know...

Nice! So it worked out...
For all who thought divx was just for PCs... here you can get the Mac-Version:
*Fuchur*
-
I used Divx 5.02 with Mp3-Audio-Decoder...
You should be able to see the movie in your WMP but if not, you can use the ThePlayer (the divx-player which is installed with divx) and it should work...

I had that problem before with some guys... you can avoid that by copy/paste the link in the adress-line. I don't know why it doesnt work with one click for some and for some it does... maybe a different browser or something...
copy this to your adress-line:

I hope that helps...

... a battlerobot to you?
No?
It's time then!

Länge = length
Auflösung = resolution
Größe = filesize

PPSS: When you are on the page, please download the zip-file by right-clicking on the link and push "save as".
PPPSSS: If you are just interested in characteranimtion, this has no CA in it.
It's just a little short...

Or if you like books, try the 2002-manual von Jeff Paris(it is from him, or?)
I bought it, and it was very nice...

PS: But what do you like to archieve?
-
I dont know exactly, but you have to prepare the spline for extruding it...
So you need (in my opinion) several separate parts... for example the windows should be each one part... so it is possible to turn them down later, etc.
You can do it now or later... but I would start as early as possible with it...

It is not a bug. You can adjust the handles in an Action-Window, but you can just change the length of the handles, not the direction... this feature isnt implented yet... (or I've got the same bug for some versions now )

The hook is made by making a spline, than dont leftclick on the next spline you like to devide but right+left-click at it...
*Fuchur*
-
You could although try it with the sweeper plugin. Make a sphere and a spline which looks like you think such a wire would look, and "sweep" (/extrude along spline)...

Maybe you could deliever the model to us, so we could look into it and give you some more tips on doing it better?
*Fuchur*
PS: I dont think that is it too bad after all... if you get the creases out, it will get a good model (maybe)
-
Or you could try to make a pose...
Make a pose for your model (percentage) and than, go to the action from this pose in the pws. There you will see a little Icon next to the action which seems like a tree-structure. Activate this and than go (under the action) through the groups you like to animate... search for them and, for example set the pose to 100% for 100% transparency. Do the same with 0% of the pose for 0% transparency.
Now it should be pretty easy to animate this value in the chereography.

I think you just pushed the extrude-button at the wrong places...
Try to connect the splines by hand where they are too straight and it should work better...
In the end you can make a smooth surface in many ways. Maybe even like what you did here...
If you have too many problems with the handlers(shouldnt be there... maybe when you try to animate them but not in the modelling-window) you can control the biases by activating the "Show Manipulator Properties"-option or in the properties itself, but that needs some expierence.
*Fuchur*
PS: After that you can try the smooth-plugin from s.gross...
Why did rendering stop 3/4 of the way through?

Hm... I am on a single-processor and tried it on my laptop and my PC and I rendered the same frame for now 5 times and everytime the same problem... i rendered about 8h per frame each of the 5 times, but it doesnt help...
