  1. Hi.

I dont seem to be able to get shadow buffers when I check the shadowbuffer checkbox in my render options.

What AM should do is just render a seperate pass, with shadow info in the alpha channel, right??

but my rendering are all black with empty alpha channel...

My anim has shadows and they look great when I render normally with no shadowbuffer selected.

Have I missed something out?? or is there other option that has to be sleected?

    thanks!

  2. Thank u everyone for the help u provided! and KenH, Im shortly going to test the PRJ u posted. big up!

but I think in my case, using 2 differen models for jumping between paths would complicate things even more and dont know if the end result would be satisfying enough..

to give u guys a better Idea of what the actual scene looks like u can check my WIP post on the character Im animating Here.

Really dont know if this makes sense but If u notice the abrupt ending of the animation were the character jumps up in the air, I want him, after that action is finished, to move along a path and then play the runcycle Action.. and run out of the screen.. follow?

so as I see it, I have to stay to my model, have him somehow smoothly translate to the next action, constrain to the new path and move along it while playing the applyed run cycle in correct speed.

the differense here from what I posted earlier might be that Im actually applying a new action. But with those tests I have done so far, the result is the same reduced stride rate.

If I understand u correctly, you CANT have a model with a stride to jump between paths and NOT having a reduced rate?? Sounds like a bug more than feature to me..

  3. Nice work, funny end too!

Looks like a good character for that animation

    contest the BBC3 is having.

What animation contest??.. seems like I have missed that one.. if u have more info about it, it would be highly appreciated!

And thanks for all your comments everyone! Hopefully I manage to stay focus on this one and wrap it up before the weekend..

    have a nice weekend

  4. Well this was just a simple example of showing the problem Im facing in another much more complex scene, where I unfortunately cant use one path for the whole action..

Another thing is, in my main scene (the complex one), If I apply a second shortcut from the same action to the model, to start after the first one has finished(still constrained to path) , I wont have it repeated as the first one.

It appears as an normal action as if I didnt have any stride lenght, I can drag the action to have a slower or faster motion... not adjust the action by the lenght or ease of the path.

Is there any option Im missing?

  5. lets say I have a wheel. I make an Action for it with stride lenght to have it spin without slippering.

i create a Chor and Constrain the Wheel to a path (Path#1). Then I drag the Action to the wheel. So long so good and the wheel animates along the path without major slippering.

NOW, I create another path next to the first one (Path#2) and after the wheel gets to end of path#1, I constrain it to path#2 and want it to roll along the second path. (setting path#1 enforcement to 0%, path#2 enforcment to 100%).

The Action is still active in the range of my animation BUT when the wheel jumps to the second path, it seems like it loses the stride I have set in the Action.

    WHY?!

heres an example PRJ to look at to get a better picture of what I mean..

    Big thanks in advance!

  6. I have an ATI 9800xt card and normally I dont have any prob with AM. But lately strange things happends in AM while working.. Models get "over (under) exposed" white.

I can delete all lights in the scene but still having the same result!

Even when I render to final the models are way to bright.

If I create a new scene they look normal.. but could after a while during some operation that requires to refresh the screen turn unnaturally white.

    have anyone experienced this??

Its kinda hard to explain so I grabbed a screen..

  7. Nope that didnt fix it. INSTEAD I got back to my main model, the one not yet being generated by SM.

I noticed that the Eye pose had been set to 100% in the Constrains relationship.

When I turned it down to 0% everything worked lovely! That explained the added value I got when turning on the Constrains..

thanks for leading me in the right direction Jim!

    /a.

  8. Thanks alot! BUT!

I now see that the pose itself works perfect but as soon as I turn the Contrains on the values gets kind of added to my pose and giving me this strange values.. so instead of having 50% i get 150%. and thats why I never can go doiwn to 0. cuz while contrains turned on gives a value of 100%. see the picture?

swithing off the contrains makes it go back to as its supposed to be.

    why?

    big gracias!

    /a.

  9. oh! and in addition to above..

I notice now that my values only goes negative! In the channel editor, keyframes for the Eye pose goes from 0 to -100! and theres no way I can "push" them up to positive values... strange things going on...

please help!.. im getting afraid of the dark...

  10. Howdy!

I'm in 10.5r and have rigged a character with SetupMashine (latest ver). I added additional constrains to the bones and also eye poses for blinking, before going through SM.

When the model is rigged by SM and Imported into Am again I can't animate the Eye pose. The constrains and Rig works perfect, but the Eye pose value is constant either 100% or 0%. It can't be animated between those values.

hope my describtion made any sence

Any help is highly highly appreciated!!

    cheers!

    /a.
